Tiruchuli Thiruvalluvar Temple is a Hindu temple at Periya Pudupatti in Tiruchuli, Tamil Nadu, India, dedicated to poet-saint Valluvar, the author of the Kural text. It is one of the few temples in the state of Tamil Nadu dedicated to Valluvar. Valluvar is worshiped as the 64th nayanmar of the Shaivite tradition and is taken in annual procession.

The temple is located near Periya Pudupatti village of Tiruchuli near Aruppukkottai in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu.
The villagers of Periya Pudupatti regard saint Valluvar as a common deity and have the tradition of worshiping him before initiating any new venture such as conducting a wedding. [1]
Annual festivals at the temple include the Thiruvalluvar Day in January and the full moon day in the Tamil month of Maasi (February–March). [1] Customs during these festivals include making vows and redeeming them by carrying pots of sprouted lentils (mullaipari) on their heads. [1] Pongal is cooked during these festivals and Valluvar's idol is taken in a procession as the 64th nayanmar of the Shaivite tradition, [2] after which the dish is offered to Valluvar. [1] The pujas are performed according to Hindu tradition with camphor, garlands, and lighting of lamps. [1] The chief worshipers in the Periya Pudupatti village are the Valluvar community, who are into fortune-telling. [2] Nevertheless, people of all religions visit the temple and make offerings. [1]

The Tirukkuṟaḷ, or shortly theKural, is a classic Tamil language text consisting of 1,330 short couplets, or kurals, of seven words each. The text is divided into three books with aphoristic teachings on virtue (aram), wealth (porul) and love (inbam), respectively. It is widely acknowledged for its universality and secular nature. Its authorship is traditionally attributed to Valluvar, also known in full as Thiruvalluvar. The text has been dated variously from 300 BCE to 5th century CE. The traditional accounts describe it as the last work of the third Sangam, but linguistic analysis suggests a later date of 450 to 500 CE and that it was composed after the Sangam period.

Anaya Nayanar, also known as Anaya and Anayar, is a Nayanar saint, venerated in the Hindu Shaivite sect. Anaya is considered to be the 14th of the 63 Nayanars. His playing of the Panchakshara on his flute so pleased the god, Shiva, that he took Anaya away to the eternal world.
