Line 6 is an eastern north–south line of the Shanghai Metro network. It opened on December 29, 2007. The entire line is located in the Pudong New Area. A complete trip between the two end terminals, Gangcheng Road and Oriental Sports Center takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. Line 6 has been dubbed the unofficial nickname “Hello Kitty Line” due to its lurid pink livery. The line is colored magenta on system maps.

The current Shijiazhuang railway station was opened in December 2012; it is one of the very few stations in this railway corridor that serve both the ("conventional") Beijing–Guangzhou railway and the new Beijing–Guangzhou high-speed railway.
Hankou railway station is one of the three main railway stations in the city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province of the People's Republic of China. It is located within the section of the city commonly known as Hankou, several kilometers north of Hankou's historical center. Hankou Station is served by a station of the same name on Line 2 of Wuhan Metro.

Yichang East railway station, formerly Huayan railway station, is a railway station in Yichang City, Hubei Province, China. It is the junction of two sections of the Shanghai–Wuhan–Chengdu high-speed railway (Huhanrong): the Hanyi Railway, going east to Hankou (Wuhan), and the Yiwan Railway going west to Lichuan and Wanzhou. The Hanyi Railway is operated by the Wuhan Railway Bureau.
Wuhan–Yichang railway, or Hanyi railway, is a 291-kilometre (181 mi) long higher-speed railway between Hankou and Yichang, in Hubei province, China. The railway forms a section of the Huhanrong passenger-dedicated line from Shanghai to Wuhan to Chengdu. The Hanyi Railway was completed in spring 2012 and started commercial operations on July 1, 2012. Adjacent high-speed rail sections, the Hefei–Wuhan railway to the east and the Yichang−Wanzhou railway to the west, opened respectively in April 2009 and December 2010.
The Line 2 of Wuhan Metro is the first underground metro line crossing the Yangtze River. The line started its trial run on September 25, 2012, and officially opened on December 28, 2012. It is Wuhan's second metro line after Line 1, and the city's first underground line, since Line 1 is mostly elevated. Line 2 runs in a northwest–southeast direction, connecting Hankou and Wuchang, including Hankou Railway Station and major commercial districts.
