Trevell Quinley (born January 16, 1983, in Santa Clara, California) is an American long jumper and competitor in the 2008 Summer Olympics. Quinley won the bronze medal at the 2002 World Junior Championships. At the 2007 World Championships he reached the final, but registered three invalid jumps and ended without a result.

Professional career

His June 2007 performance in Indianapolis included a jump of 8.22 meters (26 feet 11.75 inches), his personal best until the 2008 Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon. There, he jumped 8.36 meters (27 feet 5.25 inches) in his third jump, setting a new lifetime personal best. [1] He competed at the 2008 Olympic Games without reaching the final. [2]

Quinley is a two-time NCAA Division I All-American in long jump at Arizona State University. [3]

Prep

Quinley attended Merrill F. West High School in Tracy, California and won the CIF California State Meet Long Jump Championships in 2001. [4] Quinley is a 2001 long jump CIF California State Meet champion as a senior 7.47 m (24 ft 6 in), state finalist in the 300m hurdles, section champion in the long jump and runner-up in the 110m and 300m hurdles. Quinley is a league champion in the long jump and both hurdle races.

The Arcadia Invitational is a high school track and field meet in the United States. It is considered the most competitive meet in the country and has been billed as the "Home of National Records". The meet is held at Arcadia High School in Arcadia, California, on either the first or second weekend in April each year. The Arcadia Invitational attracts the top prep athletes in the United States and internationally. Reginald Wyatt is an American hurdler. He is the current holder of the NFHS record in the 300 meters intermediate hurdles at 35.02, set while winning a preliminary race at the CIF California State Meet on June 5, 2009 at Buchanan High School in Clovis, California. Wyatt won the State Meet the following day, but his time of 36.71 was not destined to be record material after he also won the 400 metres in 46.13 earlier at the same meet.

Reynaldo Brown is an American track and field athlete, known for the high jump. He competed in the 1968 Summer Olympics at the beginning of his senior year in high school, finishing fifth. His participation in that transitional event had him witnessing teammate Dick Fosbury winning the gold medal using the Fosbury Flop, leaving Brown as one of the last successful jumpers to use the straddle technique.

The 300 metres hurdles is a track and field hurdling event. It is a 300 meter version of the International event the 400 metres hurdles. It is a standard event under the NFHS in American high school competition and a championship level event in Masters athletics. The two iterations of the event vary somewhat. Common to all long hurdling events, the distance between hurdles is 35 metres.
