The 2023 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships were held at Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Organized by USA Track and Field (USATF), the three-day competition took place from February 16 to February 18 and served as the national championships in track and field for the United States. Qualification

The 2023 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships serve as the national championship meet for United States. The 2023 World Athletics Indoor Championships were cancelled in the summer of 2022 due to COVID-19 restrictions in the host country, China. [4] [5]

Notes

  1. Tara Davis-Woodhall originally won the women's long jump with a mark of 6.99 m (22 ft 11 in), but she tested positive for cannabis at the event and was given a one-month ban from competition, nullifying her result and promoting Rhesa Foster to winner. [3]

He set the outdoor world record at 23.56 meters in May 2023, improving upon his previous record of 23.37 m from July 2021. He has held the indoor record of 22.82 m since January 2021.

All marks in the competition are considered at altitude. The meet serves for the selection of American representatives at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships held in Birmingham March 1 to March 4.

Tara Davis-Woodhall is an American track and field athlete. In 2017 she set the American junior women's record in the indoor long jump, and placed 6th in the women's long jump final at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She won a silver medal in women's long jump at the 2023 World Athletics Championships. Davis-Woodhall is also a hurdler.

The 20th World Athletics Indoor Championships was re-scheduled to be held from 21 to 23 March 2025 in Nanjing, People's Republic of China at the newly built Nanjing's Cube gymnasium in the Nanjing Youth Olympic Sports Park. This would be the city's first hosting of the event although it staged the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games.

Sha'Carri Richardson is an American track and field sprinter who competes in the 100 meters and 200 meters races. Richardson rose to fame in 2019 as a freshman at Louisiana State University, running 10.75 seconds to break the 100 m collegiate record at the NCAA Division I Championships. This winning time made her one of the ten fastest women in history at 19 years old.

She became the 2022 US National Pentathlon Champion with a gold medal performance at the USATF Indoor Championships in Spokane, Washington. She represented the US in the heptathlon at the 2019 World Championships in Doha finishing 12th overall, & at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest finishing 8th overall.

The USATF Masters Indoor Championships is an annual track and field competition which serves as the national indoor championship for the United States for athletes in masters age groups. Organized by USA Track & Field, the national governing body for the sport, the competition was first held in 1975. Athletes compete in 5-year age groups, beginning from 25 and up to 105. Traditionally limited to athletes over 35, a "pre-masters" group was introduced from 2020 onwards to encourage post-collegiate athletes over 25 to continue competing.

Weini Kelati Frezghi is an Eritrean-born American middle- and long-distance runner. She claimed asylum in the United States in July 2014 and subsequently achieved multiple victories in state- and national-level competitions while attending Heritage High School in Leesburg, Virginia. While competing for the University of New Mexico, Kelati won the 2019 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. In June 2021, she became a U.S. citizen and began competing as an American. Kelati set an American record of 1:06.25 for the half marathon in January 2024. She runs professionally for Under Armour on the group Dark Sky Distance.

Yared Nuguse is an American middle-distance runner who specializes in the 1500 meters. He was the 2019 NCAA Division I champion in the event. Nuguse is the North American outdoor record holder over 1500 meters and one mile, and the North American indoor record holder for the 1500 meters, one mile and 3000 meters. Since June 2022, Nuguse has competed for the On Athletics Club under coach Dathan Ritzenhein.

The 2022 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships were held at The Podium in Spokane, Washington. Organized by USA Track and Field (USATF), the two-day competition took place from February 26 to February 27 and served as the national championships in track and field for the United States and selection meet for Team USA for 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships March 18 to 20, 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia.

The 2024 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships were held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds from January 27-28, and the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico from February 16–17. Organized by USA Track and Field (USATF), it served as the indoor United States national championships in track and field and selection meet for the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
