Trimeresurus sabahi barati, commonly known as the Sumatran green pit viper [1] or the Barat bamboo pitviper, [3] [4] is a subspecies of Trimeresurus sabahi . [3] The IUCN Red List treats it as a distinct species, [1] and others have considered it subspecies of Trimeresurus popeiorum or Trimeresurus gramineus . [3] It is endemic to Sumatra (Indonesia), including some nearby smaller islands. [1] [3]
The scalation includes 17–19 rows of dorsal scales at midbody, 142–157/146–160 ventral scales in males/females, 62–72/55–58 subcaudal scales in males/females, and 9–11 supralabial scales. [4]
Found in Indonesia on Sumatra and in the Mentawai Archipelago. [1] The type locality given is "Solok, Sumatra". [2] [3]
Ovophis monticola, commonly known as the Chinese mountain pit viper, is a venomous pitviper species found in Asia. Currently, two subspecies are recognized, including the nominate subspecies described here. Recent taxonomic work suggests that most of these should be considered as separate species. IUCN has already evaluated O. m. makazayazaya as Ovophis makazayazaya.
