Tyler Football Club is a Semi-Pro American Soccer club based in Tyler, Texas that plays in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), both who are fourth tier of the American soccer pyramid.

History

About Tyler Football Club

The club was announced as an expansion team by the National Premier Soccer League on December 8, 2016. [2] The club is led by President Christopher Avila a native to Tyler, TX and Vice President Jason Martinez. 2017-2018 was a rough beginning for the club as Tyler FC tried to find their identity in style of play. 2019 was a breakthrough season as higher level recruits came through and players who played in previous seasons began to gain experience playing in the NPSL. In the fall of 2019 Tyler FC joined 4th division UPSL, joining up in the Red River Conference (2nd tier UPSL). After a successful inaugural season in the UPSL 2nd tier, Tyler FC managed to score 49 goals and place 2nd in the nation for most goals scored. Although they did not win their conference they managed to go get promoted to 1st tier UPSL after a breakthrough season.

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. The club takes its name from a Southern California weather condition known as the Santa Ana winds. Santa Ana Winds FC, an elite amateur and professional development club, has played international development squads in the past, namely matches against a Club Atlas U-20 squad in March 2011, and a Chivas de Guadalajara U-20 squad in November 2011. On November 18, 2017, the club made history by qualifying to the 2018 U.S. Open Cup for the first time. On Tuesday, June 5, 2018, Winds FC winger Juan Arellano became the first player to transfer directly from Santa Ana Winds FC to an international professional club.

The club was founded in Conroe, Texas in 2011, before relocating to Olympia Heights, Florida in 2019. They are owned by Martin Kroeze.

Tulsa Athletic Football club

Tulsa Athletic is an American soccer team and are based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States. 2013 was their inaugural season in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), which is a national league at the fourth tier of the American soccer pyramid. They compete in the NPSL's Heartland Conference. The team maintains amateur status under NPSL rules, allowing college players to participate without losing their collegiate eligibility. The club currently plays at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park since the 2022 season, having previously played at Veterans Park (2018-21), LaFortune Stadium (2017) and Drillers Stadium (2013-16), the former home of the Tulsa Drillers baseball team.

The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is an American soccer league that was founded in Santa Ana in Southern California, with teams in regionalized conferences throughout the United States, and recently Canada and Mexico. The league was founded in 2011 by Santa Ana Winds FC President Leonel López as a regional league for teams in Greater Los Angeles, but expanded to include 350 teams from 36 states as of the 2021 season.

Soccer has enjoyed longstanding popularity in Los Angeles. As of 2019 there are two professional soccer clubs in Los Angeles County that play in Major League Soccer: LA Galaxy and Los Angeles FC.
