2000 Las Piñas sighting

Adrian Israel claimed that he filmed small balls of light dancing frantically in the evening sky in Las Piñas on September 3, 2000. Israel said that the UFOs were also seen in nearby Barangay and possibly by residents of Parañaque. [1] [2] Scientists from the United Nations and the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) investigated Israel's video and his house but could not determine a cause for the sighting. [2]

2004 Las Piñas sighting

More than 10 UFOs were seen in Las Piñas about 7:00 p.m. local time on August 28, 2004. Three children noticed two unusual 'reddish-etheric glares' moving above partly cloudy skies from their residence in Mabolo St, Pamplona, Las Piñas. The first object they saw headed east and were joined by two more objects appearing from the western horizon.

Nica, the eldest of the siblings and one of the early witnesses, immediately called her nine-year-old friend Adrian Israel. Isreal had previously taken video footage of UFOs above the Las Piñas skies in 2000. Isreal confirmed that these objects were similar to those he saw four years ago, and alerted his older brothers and their father Tony.

Tony joined the siblings outside with his video camera and watched while the objects in the sky moved erratically. From 7:30 to 8:15 p.m., Israel and Tony shot videos of at least five UFOs – each emerging from the horizon at time intervals of approximately eight minutes.

Israel told ABS-CBN that he was now more composed in aiming his video camera at the subjects compared to his first encounter. He added; "I learned a big lesson from the previous investigations made by the PAGASA UFO Investigating Team (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) and from criticisms telling that in my first UFO encounter, the video lacked panning that’s why there was no referential point to approximate size and distance. So from this chance, I think I panned well enough and a probable estimation of the objects' altitude and size could be established." [3]

2011 Bulacan sighting

Two UFOs were seen in Bulacan in the middle of the night. Witnesses said that one of them came from the east and the other from the west, colliding with each other and then disappearing. The UFO was noted as resembling a basketball. [4]

2015 Pampanga sighting

The alleged UFO was sighted on the evening of April 26, 2015, and was quickly circulated across Facebook. The video shows motionless lights floating in the sky. According to the person who took the video, they were on the Lubao-Pampanga diversion road when they noticed the lights. At first, they only saw three lights, until seven more appeared. Later, the lights vanished. The next morning, they returned to the area where the lights appeared in the sky; there were no buildings in the area. The video, which was shown by PAGASA, was estimated to be about 800–1000 meters above the ground. PAGASA stated that the lights could not be coming from an aeroplane, a hot air balloon, or drones due to their size. The lights appeared for 5–8 minutes based on witness reports. [2] [5]

2018 General Santos sighting

In 2018, UFO hunter Scott C. Waring was sent an anonymous video of a colorfully shaped UFO above the sky in General Santos. Other self-proclaimed UFO experts noted though that it was simply an atmospheric phenomenon.[ citation needed ]

2019 Negros Occidental sighting

In February 2019, a mysterious light was sighted multiple times in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental, where the residents suspected that it was a UFO. When the light was captured by a professional camera, it appeared in bright yellow and it moved to the right while the light faded out. On February 14, the light appeared again, this time stationary until it suddenly disappeared off camera. On February 15, the residents waited for the light to reappear, however it was obscured by cloudy skies. [6] Investigating the pictures of the light, PAGASA Astronomical Publication Unit Chief Jose Mendoza IV said that these lights were not caused by an airplane. He added that the object could be the International Space Station – which was launched into orbit in 1998.[ citation needed ]

2021 Pasay sighting

On June 14, 2021, Ejay Bacquial saw glowing, silver-coloured discs over a dock near Pasay. Bacquial filmed the phenomenon to show some of his friends, who believe that the discs are the light fixtures reflecting off the window through which Bacquial viewed the discs. [7]

An unidentified flying object (UFO), more recently relabeled by certain enthusiasts as UAP, is any perceived aerial phenomenon that cannot be immediately identified or explained. On investigation, most UFOs are identified as known objects or atmospheric phenomena, while a small number remain unexplained.

The term foo fighter was used by Allied aircraft pilots during World War II to describe various UFOs or mysterious aerial phenomena seen in the skies over both the European and Pacific theaters of operations.

The Phoenix Lights were a series of widely sighted unidentified flying objects observed in the skies over the southwestern states of Arizona and Nevada, and the Mexican state of Sonora on March 13, 1997.

Identifying unidentified flying objects (UFOs) is a difficult task due to the normally poor quality of the evidence provided by those who report sighting the unknown object. Observations and subsequent reporting are often made by those untrained in astronomy, atmospheric phenomena, aeronautics, physics, and perception. Nevertheless, most officially investigated UFO sightings, such as from the U.S. Air Force's Project Blue Book, have been identified as being due to honest misidentifications of natural phenomena, aircraft, or other prosaic explanations. In early U.S. Air Force attempts to explain UFO sightings, unexplained sightings routinely numbered over one in five reports. However, in early 1953, right after the CIA's Robertson Panel, percentages of unexplained sightings dropped precipitously, usually being only a few percent in any given year. When Project Blue Book closed down in 1970, only 6% of all cases were classified as being truly unidentified.

The 1976 Tehran UFO Incident was a radar and visual sighting of an unidentified flying object (UFO) over Tehran, the capital of Iran, during the early morning hours of 19 September 1976. During the incident, two Imperial Iranian Air Force F-4 Phantom II jet interceptors reported losing instrumentation and communications as they approached the object. These were restored upon withdrawal. One of the aircraft also reported a temporary weapons systems failure while the crew was preparing to open fire. An initial report of the incident was relayed to the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff on the day of the incident.

The Chiles-Whitted UFO encounter occurred at approximately 2:45 AM on July 24, 1948, in the skies near Montgomery, Alabama, United States. Two commercial pilots, Clarence S. Chiles and John B. This is a list of notable alleged sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in the United Kingdom. Many more sightings have become known since the gradual release, between 2008 and 2013, of the Ministry of Defence's UFO sighting reports by the National Archives. In recent years, there have been many sightings of groups of slowly moving lights in the night sky, which can be easily explained as Chinese lanterns. Undertaken between 1997 and 2000, Project Condign concluded that all the investigated sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena in the UK could be attributed to misidentified but explicable objects, or poorly understood natural phenomena.

Gulf Breeze UFO incident 1987 claimed UFO sightings in Florida

The Gulf Breeze UFO incident was a series of claimed UFO sightings in Gulf Breeze, Florida, during 1987 and 1988. Beginning in November 1987, The Gulf Breeze Sentinel published a number of photos supplied to them by local contractor Ed Walters that were claimed to show a UFO. UFOlogists such as Bruce Maccabee believed the photographs were genuine; however, others strongly suspected them to be a hoax. Pensacola News Journal reporter Craig Myers investigated Walters' claims a few years later, criticizing the Sentinel's coverage of the story as "uncritical" and "sensationalist". In 1990, after Walters and his family moved, the new owners of Walters' house discovered a styrofoam model UFO hidden in the attic. Myers was able to duplicate the object in the Walters photographs almost exactly using the model UFO found in the attic. Walters later claimed that the model UFO had been "planted" in the attic.

Flying saucer Type of supposed alien spacecraft, or UFO

A flying saucer is a descriptive term for a type of flying craft having a disc or saucer-shaped body, commonly used generically to refer to an anomalous flying object. The term was coined in 1947 but has generally been supplanted since 1952 by the United States Air Force term unidentified flying objects. Early reported sightings of unknown "flying saucers" usually described them as silver or metallic, sometimes reported as covered with navigation lights or surrounded with a glowing light, hovering or moving rapidly, either alone or in tight formations with other similar craft, and exhibiting high maneuverability.

The 2009 Morristown UFO hoax was a series of aerial events involving mysterious floating red lights in the sky, that first occurred near Morristown, New Jersey, on Monday, January 5, 2009, between 8:15 pm and 9:00 pm. The red lights were later observed on four other nights: January 26, January 29, February 7, and February 17, 2009. The events were later revealed to be a hoax, perpetrated by Joe Rudy and Chris Russo. Rudy and Russo have described the hoax as a social experiment, with the ambition of exposing "ufology" as a pseudoscience and raising consciousness around unreliability of eyewitness claims.

Japan Air Lines Cargo Flight 1628 was a UFO incident that occurred on November 17, 1986, involving a Japanese Boeing 747-200F cargo aircraft. The aircraft was en route from Paris to Narita International Airport, near Tokyo, with a cargo of Beaujolais wine. On the Reykjavík to Anchorage section of the flight, at 17:11 over eastern Alaska, the crew first witnessed two unidentified objects to their left. These abruptly rose from below and closed in to escort their aircraft. Each had two rectangular arrays of what appeared to be glowing nozzles or thrusters, though their bodies remained obscured by darkness. When closest, the aircraft's cabin was lit up and the captain could feel their heat on his face. These two craft departed before a third, much larger disk-shaped object started trailing them. Anchorage Air Traffic Control requested an oncoming United Airlines flight to confirm the unidentified traffic, but when it and a military craft sighted JAL 1628 at about 17:51, no other craft could be distinguished. The sighting lasted 50 minutes and ended in the vicinity of Denali.

The most widely reported UFO incident in New Zealand, and the only one investigated, involved the Kaikoura lights encountered by aircraft, filmed and tracked by radar in December 1978. The New Zealand Defence Force does not take an official interest in UFO reports, but in December 2010 it released files on hundreds of purported UFO reports. New Zealand's then-Minister of Defence, Wayne Mapp said at the time people could "make what they will" of the reports, and said "a quick scan of the files indicates that virtually everything has a natural explanation".

Flight 105 UFO sighting UFO sighting in 1947

The Flight 105 UFO sighting occurred on July 4, 1947 when three crew members aboard a United Airlines flight reported seeing multiple unidentified objects in the skies over the Pacific Northwest. A week prior, private pilot Kenneth Arnold had reported seeing similar objects nearby -- a sighting that was followed by nearly 800 "copycat" reports during the summer of 1947. Four days after the Flight 105 sighting, Roswell Army Air Field issued a press release stating that they had recovered a "flying disc"; that statement was quickly retracted after the crashed object was identified as a conventional weather balloon. The following month, on July 29, an air crew flying the same route also reported unidentified objects.
