The Scottish Highland Football League is a part-time, senior professional football league in the north of Scotland. The league, which is the fifth level within Scottish football, is a full member of the Scottish Football Association. It currently consists of 17 teams from the Scottish Highlands as well as the lowlands of Moray and Aberdeenshire.

Iochdar, also spelled Eochar, is a hamlet and community on the west coast of the island of South Uist, in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. Iochdar is also in the parish of South Uist. It is the largest of several crofting settlements in the north-west of South Uist, and is located 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) west of the A865 road. Iochdar is part of the 93,000 acres (38,000 ha) South Uist Estate, which was the subject of Scotland's largest community land buyout in 2006, and is now run by Stòras Uibhist. Iochdar was where Angus McPhee or MacPhee (1916–1997), the Scottish Outsider Artist, was raised. He is buried in the local cemetery.

Malcolm MacDonald was a Scottish professional footballer and manager, best remembered for his time as a utility player with Celtic and as a manager with Kilmarnock and Brentford. MacDonald managed the Scotland national team on a caretaker basis in 1966. He is a member of the Brentford Hall of Fame.
Colony Park Football Club are a Scottish football club from the town of Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. Formed in 1978 as Colony Park Boys Club, they are the largest Juvenile football club in North-East Scotland, running teams from under-7 through to under-19 level. In 2011, they successfully applied for membership of the Scottish Junior Football Association, and joined North Region, Division Two for the 2011–12 season. The club also successfully applied for membership of the Scottish Amateur Football Association, and joined Aberdeenshire Amateur Football Association in Division Three. This has allowed former youth players to continue with the club and bridged a gap between age group football and the Highland League.
