Urotheca decipiens, the pale ground snake, is a species of snake in the family, Colubridae. It is found in Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia. [2]

The species is threatened by habitat loss, increasing frequency of fires, and over-exploitation of its seeds for the horticultural trade.
