Hindustani classical music is the classical music of the Indian subcontinent's northern regions. It may also be called North Indian classical music or, in Hindustani, shastriya sangeet. The term shastriya sangeet literally means classical music, and is also used to refer to Indian classical music in general. It is played on instruments like the veena, sitar and sarod. Its origins from the 12th century CE, when it diverged from Carnatic music, the classical tradition in South India. While Carnatic music largely uses compositions written in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and sometimes in Sanskrit, Hindustani music largely uses compositions written in Urdu, Punjabi, Rajasthani and sometimes in Hindi.

Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple is a Hindu temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India and is dedicated to the Hindu God Hanuman. The temple was established by famous Hindu preacher and poet saint Sri Goswami Tulsidas in the early 16th century and is situated on the banks of the Assi river. The deity was named "Sankat Mochan" meaning the "reliever from troubles".

SPIC MACAY was established by Dr. Kiran Seth in 1977 at IIT Delhi.
"Bombay" Jayashri Ramnath is an Indian Carnatic vocalist, singer, and musician. She has sing in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi movies. Born into a family of musicians, Jayashri represents the fourth generation of music practitioner's in her family. Trained by Lalgudi Jayaraman and T.R. Balamani. She was awarded India's fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, in 2021. In December 2023, she was awarded the most prestigious award in the Carnatic Music Field, the Sangeetha Kalanidhi, by the Madras Music Academy. She has become one of the most sought-after Carnatic musicians today.
Rajan and Sajan Mishra are brothers, singers of the khyal style of Indian classical music. They were awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2007, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, jointly in 1998, the Gandharwa National Award for 1994–1995 and the National Tansen Samman 2011–2012 on 14 December 2012.
Prof. Kiran Seth is an Indian academician, professor emeritus in the department of mechanical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He is most known as the founder of SPIC MACAY (1977), a non-profit organisation which promotes Indian classical music, Indian classical dance, and other aspects Indian culture, amongst youth the world over; through its about 500 chapters and through conventions, baithaks, lectures and musical fests.

Pt. Arup Chattopadhyay is an Indian tabla player. He was born at Chandannagar, West Bengal. He started learning tabla at the age of six from his father Pt. Pankaj Chattopadhyay, who himself is a tabla player of Bengal. After a few years, he came under the tutelage of world-famous tabla maestro Pandit Sankar Ghosh of Farukkhabad gharana with whom he continues to learn. Gradually he has established himself as a top class accompanist and a formidable soloist. His performances are admired for their tonal quality, crystal clear sound of bols even at an electrifying speed, and tremendous sense of rhythm and melody. He was awarded the top-grade by All India Radio and Television. His performances with most of the leading artists like Pandit Ravi Shankar, Ustad Ashish Khan, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ustad Rais Khan, Pandit Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Pandit Manas Chakraborty, Pandit Viswamohan Bhat, Ustad Rashid khan, Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumder, Pandit Nayan Ghosh and Pandit Kushal Das among others, has established him as a top-notch accompanist throughout the world. Since 1998, he has been honored to accompany the living legend Pt. Ravi Shankar in his tours throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and India. He accompanied Pt. Deepak Chowdhury in his U.K. tour, and Pandit Kartick Seshadri in his U.S., Canada, Australia and Mexico tours. He is also a highly accomplished tabla teacher and was a professor of tabla at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in London. Since 1998 he has been a visiting lecturer of tabla at the University of California, San Diego.

Swara Samrat festival is a four-day annual festival of Indian classical music and dance held during the winters in Kolkata, India. This festival is the brainchild of Sarod maestro Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, his vocalist wife, Manasi Majumder and their Sarod player-son Indrayuddh Majumder. The festival is dedicated to Swara Samrat Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. She has performed in India as well as in festivals and concert halls in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, the Scandinavian countries, Estonia, and South Korea. Devayānī is an empanelled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. In 2009, she was awarded the Padma Shri.
