The men's tournament in volleyball at the 1988 Summer Olympics was the 7th edition of the event at the Summer Olympics, organized by the world's governing body, the FIVB in conjunction with the IOC. It was held in Seoul, South Korea from 17 September to 2 October 1988. [1]

Dongdaemun Stadium was a sports complex in Seoul, South Korea and included a multi-purpose stadium, a baseball park and other sports facilities. It was located near Dongdaemun or Great East Gate. The surrounding Dongdaemun market had many vendors selling athletics-related goods. It was demolished in 2008 to make way for the Dongdaemun Design Plaza & Park.

Shin Dong-pa is a South Korean basketball coach, sports commentator, and former basketball player who competed at the men's basketball tournaments at the 1964 Summer Olympics and the 1968 Summer Olympics. He was also a member of the senior South Korean national team that won the gold medal at the 1969 FIBA Asian Cup. He also played with South Korea at the 1970 FIBA World Championship, where he finished as that tournament's top scorer.
