"Walk Along" is a song performed by Dutch singer Trijntje Oosterhuis. The song was written by singer-songwriter and Oosterhuis's close friend Anouk and Swedish songwriter Tobias Karlsson. [1] It represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. [2]

The Netherlands has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 60 times since making its debut as one of the seven countries at the first contest in 1956. The country has missed only four contests, twice because the dates coincided with Remembrance of the Dead and twice because of being relegated due to poor results the previous year. Trijntje Oosterhuis

Judith Katrijntje "Trijntje" Oosterhuis is a Dutch singer and songwriter. She formed the band Total Touch in 1990 with her brother Tjeerd Oosterhuis before she started as a solo singer. Glennis Grace Dutch singer

Glenda Hulita Elisabeth Batta, better known by her stage name Glennis Grace, is a Dutch singer from Amsterdam. In 2005 Grace represented the Netherlands in the 50th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest and in 2018 she appeared on the 13th season of America's Got Talent and made it to the finals.

The Netherlands participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The Dutch entry was selected through an internal selection, organised by the Dutch broadcaster TROS. Anouk represented the Netherlands with the song "Birds", which qualified from the first semi-final of the competition and placed 9th in the final, scoring 114 points.

"Birds" is a song recorded by Dutch singer Anouk, released as the first single from her eighth studio album Sad Singalong Songs (2013). The song was written by Anouk Teeuwe and composed by Tore Johansson, Martin Gjerstad and Anouk Teeuwe. It is best known as the Netherlands' entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 held in Malmö, Sweden. The song competed in the first semi-final on 14 May 2013 for and managed to qualify for a spot in the final on 18 May 2013, the Netherlands' first qualification in 9 years, where Anouk achieved 9th place in a field of 39; the best result for the Netherlands since the 1999 competition.

The Netherlands participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Calm After the Storm", written by Ilse DeLange, JB Meijers, Rob Crosby, Matthew Crosby and Jake Etheridge. The song was performed by The Common Linnets, a duo consisting of DeLange and Waylon, two well-known and popular Dutch artists, and formed by DeLange as a platform for Dutch artists to create country, Americana, and bluegrass music. In November 2013 the Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS announced that they had internally selected The Common Linnets to represent the Netherlands at the 2014 contest in Copenhagen, Denmark, with their song first presented to the public in March 2014.

The Netherlands participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Walk Along" written by Anouk Teeuwe and Tobias Karlsson. The song was performed by Trijntje Oosterhuis, who was selected by the Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS in November 2014 to represent the Netherlands at the 2015 contest in Vienna, Austria. "Walk Along" was written by 2013 Contest entrant Anouk who also first revealed that Oosterhuis had been selected to represent the Netherlands while being interviewed for the Dutch talkshow College Tour. The sixth season of the Dutch reality singing competition The Voice of Holland premiered on September 25, 2015 on RTL4. Martijn Krabbé, Wendy van Dijk, and Jamai Loman all returned, as did Marco Borsato and Ali B as coaches. However, the sixth season saw Trijntje Oosterhuis and Ilse DeLange replaced by Dutch singer-songwriters Anouk and Sanne Hans from the band Miss Montreal. This is the last season that Marco Borsato appeared as a coach on the show, as he announced on November 13, 2015 that he will not be returning for the next season. In his place, singer Waylon will serve as coach for Season 7. The season was won by Maan de Steenwinkel of Team Borsato, and this is Borsato's fourth time as winning coach.

The song was performed by Douwe Bob, who was internally selected by the Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS to represent the Netherlands at the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Douwe Bob's appointment as the Dutch representative was announced on 22 September 2015, while the song, "Slow Down", was presented to the public on 4 March 2016.

The Netherlands participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Waylon was internally selected by the Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS on 9 November 2017 to represent the nation at the 2018 contest in Lisbon, Portugal.
