WCPN is a non-commercial educational radio station licensed to Lorain, Ohio, featuring a public radio format as a repeater of Kent–licensed WKSU. Owned by Ideastream Public Media, the station serves the western portion of Greater Cleveland and parts of surrounding Northeast Ohio. By virtue of WKSU, studios are located at Playhouse Square in Downtown Cleveland, while WCPN's transmitter resides in the Cleveland suburb of Avon. In addition to standard analog transmission, WCPN broadcasts over four HD Radio channels and streams online.

WDLW Oldies radio station in Lorain, Ohio

WDLW is a commercial radio station licensed to Lorain, Ohio, and features an oldies format known as "Kool Kat Oldies 1380AM & 98.9FM". Owned by WDLW Radio, Inc., the station serves Lorain County and western parts of Greater Cleveland, and is relayed over Lorain translator W255CW. WDLW's studios are located in Oberlin, Ohio, while the transmitters for both WDLW and W255CW reside in Sheffield Township. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WDLW is available online.

Avon High School is a public high school for grades 9–12 located in Avon, Ohio, United States. Athletic teams are known as the Eagles and play in the Southwestern Conference as of the 2018–2019 school year. The current Avon High School opened in 1998, located on 37 acres of land on Detroit Road. The school is two stories tall and was built for 800 students with room to expand it for 1,600 students.

The Sandusky Bay Conference is a high school athletic conference in the Sandusky Bay area of north central Ohio. It is affiliated with the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is a public community college in the city of Elyria in Lorain County, Ohio, with learning centers in Wellington, North Ridgeville, and Lorain. The Toledo Area Athletic Conference (TAAC) is a high school athletic conference located in northwest Ohio, with member schools stretched across Lucas, Williams, and Wood counties. It was formed in 1988, and the league sponsors football, cross country, volleyball, golf, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, and track & field.

The Southwestern Conference is a high school athletic league whose members are located in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties, mainly southwest of the city of Cleveland. The league was formed in 1937 and is part of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA).

The Elyria-Lorain Broadcasting Co. is a privately held holding company of various assets in the broadcast media, based in Elyria, Ohio. Its parent company is the Lorain County Printing and Publishing Company, which owns the Chronicle-Telegram of Elyria and Medina County Gazette.

North Coast Inland Trail

The North Coast Inland Trail is a work-in-process multipurpose trail project that currently consists of several separate portions, defined by their counties, in northern Ohio, United States. Affiliates with the trails have high hopes to connect all of these portions and to extend the trails into Indiana and Pennsylvania, two of Ohio's land-bordering states.

The Lake Erie League (LEL) is an Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) sports conference that mainly includes schools in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area.

Lorain County League

The Lorain County League (LCL) is an Ohio high school athletic league that began with the 2019-20 school year and is made up of eight schools predominantly based in Lorain County, Ohio. All schools are members of the Ohio High School Athletic Association. Previous versions of a Lorain County League existed from 1924–61 and again from 1968-2005.
