Whittington Moor is an area of Chesterfield, in the county of Derbyshire, England, it stands to the north of the town centre and to the south of Old Whittington and New Whittington. [1] [2] [3]

The area was served by the Sheepbridge railway station between 1870 and 1967, with the station being officially named the Sheepbridge and Whittington Moor station in later years. [5]

Saltergate, officially the Recreation Ground, was the historic home of Chesterfield Football Club, and was in use from 1871 until the club's relocation in July 2010, a 139-year history that made it one of the oldest football grounds in England at the time of its closure. Chesterfield tramway

The Chesterfield and District Tramways Company and its successors ran a tramway system in the Derbyshire town of Chesterfield, England. The first horse-drawn line opened in 1882, and in 1897, the system was taken over by Chesterfield Corporation, who extended and electrified it in 1904 and 1905. Additional tramcars were purchased, but two had to be scrapped after a disastrous fire at the depot in 1916. The system suffered from a lack of maintenance as a result of reduced staffing levels during the First World War, and the trams were replaced by trolleybuses in 1927.
