Xiaomi M365 or Mi Electric Scooter is a consumer e-scooter by the Chinese electronics company Xiaomi. Released in December 2016, it debuted three months before the dockless rental scooter operator Bird commenced service. [1] The M365 is the model used for the original Bird rental scooters. [2]
In terms of private ownership, the model is readily available in Europe, where it is said to have "democratized" the motorized kick scooter, due to its competitive price (often €350–€400), and it being one of the easiest scooters to operate. [3] [4]
The electric motor is located in the front wheel making the M365 front wheel drive, while the battery and motor controller are located in the compartment under the deck. The brake lever triggers two braking systems, firstly regenerative braking (KERS) by the motor in the front wheel, followed by mechanical disk braking, located in the rear wheel, which ensures a short stopping distance.
It has a folding mechanism, which can, for example, be used on public transport. [5]
The red light means charging and green light means fully charged or disconnected.
A line cable connects between controller and dashboard. [6] [7] The controller voltage is DC 36V and controller rated power 350W.
The battery is connected to the charge port, controller and rear light.
The scooter used to be[ when? ] vulnerable to remote hacking, which included triggering the brake or speeding it up. [8] [9]
Some units in select markets were recalled due to a screw in the folding mechanism that became loose; this could cause the stem to break off while in use. [10] [11]
The successor, called the M365 Pro, has refined the original M365 by including a colour graphical display, an increased range of 45 km (28 miles), as well as more power from the electric motor, at 300W (peak 600W). The length and width of the deck has also been increased, improving comfort. Safety improvements have also been made, including a larger disk for the rear brake. [12]

A kick scooter is a human-powered street vehicle with a handlebar, deck, and wheels propelled by a rider pushing off the ground with their leg. Today the most common scooters are made of aluminum, titanium, and steel. Some kick scooters made for younger children have 3 to 4 wheels and are made of plastic and do not fold. High-performance kickbikes are also made. A company that had once made the Razor Scooters revitalized the design in the mid-nineties and early two-thousands. Three-wheel models where the frame forks into two decks are known as Y scooters or trikkes.
A motorized scooter is a stand-up scooter powered by either a small internal combustion engine or electric hub motor in its front and/or rear wheel. Electric motorcycles and scooters are plug-in electric vehicles with two or three wheels. Power is supplied by a rechargeable battery that drives one or more electric motors. Electric scooters are distinguished from motorcycles by having a step-through frame, instead of being straddled. Electric bicycles are similar vehicles, distinguished by retaining the ability to be propelled by the rider pedaling in addition to battery propulsion.
Motorcycle components and systems for a motorcycle are engineered, manufactured, and assembled in order to produce motorcycle models with the desired performance, aesthetics, and cost. The key components of modern motorcycles are presented below.

A battery electric vehicle (BEV), pure electric vehicle, only-electric vehicle, fully electric vehicle or all-electric vehicle is a type of electric vehicle (EV) that exclusively uses chemical energy stored in rechargeable battery packs, with no secondary source of propulsion. BEVs use electric motors and motor controllers instead of internal combustion engines (ICEs) for propulsion. They derive all power from battery packs and thus have no internal combustion engine, fuel cell, or fuel tank. BEVs include – but are not limited to – motorcycles, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, railcars, watercraft, forklifts, buses, trucks, and cars.
