Xiaomi 17 is a series of Android-based smartphones manufactured by Xiaomi. It succeeds the Xiaomi 15 series and introduces improvements in display, camera system, as well as performance. The series was announced on 25 September 2025 by founder Lei Jun's 2025 Annual Speech. ^[4] Among innovations in this release are large capacity 7000 mAh silicon carbon battery, dual-screen - the second display on the back side of the phone, 50MP Light Fusion 950 sensor for main camera.

Software

Xiaomi 17 series phones were launched with Xiaomi Hyper OS 3 out of the box, some older models will receive updates to Hyper OS 3 as well. ^[5]

Hardware

Xiaomi 17 series received the newest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max models have received an additional screen at the back of the phone. ^[6]

Xiaomi 17 is expected to launch globally with 6,330 mAh battery (the previous model Xiaomi 15 global version had 5,240 mAh battery). ^[8]

Release, reception, prices

Xiaomi 17 series phones were sold over a million units in China during the first week, the milestone achieved faster than Xiaomi 15 series. ^[9]

Only Xiaomi 17 variant is expected to be released globally (outside of Chinese market). ^[10]
