Yang Hilang (meaning The Lost One) is a greatest hits album by Indonesian singer Anggun. It was released in 1994 by Blackboard Indonesia, compiling her well-known Indonesian hits with two brand new songs, "Yang Hilang" and "Masa Masa Remaja".

Background and Composition

After released five studio albums she was dissatisfied with her success in her country and began considering an international music career. She later released Yang Hilang as a final album.

Yang Hilang was written by her long-time composer Teddy Sudjaja, song's lyrics can be interpreted to her music career which was "lost" for three years before coming back with her debut international album, Snow on the Sahara (1997).

Content

The album features her well-known Indonesian hit singles since 1989 with two brand new songs, "Yang Hilang" and "Masa Masa Remaja". The album excluded all material from her debut and final Indonesian studio albums, Dunia Aku Punya (1986) and Anggun C. Sasmi... Lah!!! (1993). Other notable exclusions from the compilation are "Takut" and "Bayang Bayang Ilusi".

On the first edition cover sleeve, Anggun jokingly wrote the credits as Billy Sheehan from Mr. Big (bass), Rick Wakeman from Yes (keyboard), John Bonham from Led Zeppelin (drum), which were not true.

Single

"Yang Hilang" was released as Anggun's final single in Indonesia. It was accompanied by a music video directed by Christ Sinyal and became another hit on the charts, peaking inside the Top 10 in the Indonesian Airplay Chart.

A major departure from her non-Indonesian debut album's world music composition, Chrysalis features electropop sounds with elements of R&B and ambient music. Luminescence is the third international studio album by Anggun. The French-language version was released in France on 22 February 2005, while English-language version, also with the same title, was first released in Italy on 18 May 2005. The album was later repackaged in August 2006 as Luminescence: Special Edition with three brand new songs. Following her departure from Columbia Records in 2003, Anggun signed a recording contract with Heben Music. The album features production by several musicians, including Jean-Pierre Taïeb, Frédéric Jaffré and Niels Brinck. Echoes / Échos is the fifth international studio album by Indonesian recording artist Anggun. The English version was first released by Sony Music in Anggun's native country on 20 May 2011 and the French version was released by Warner Music in Belgium on 4 November 2011. The album was re-packaged in 2012 to promote her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. The album was produced by Anggun—the first time since her international career—under her own record label April Earth. Toujours un ailleurs is the sixth international studio album by Anggun. It was released physically in France and Belgium by TF1 Musique on 20 November 2015, and as a digital album worldwide. It became her first French-language album not to have its standalone English-language version. The album revisited the world music direction of her debut international album, Snow on the Sahara (1997).
