Zephyra is a genus of cormous plants in the Tecophilaeaceae, first described as a genus in 1832. It is endemic to Northern Chile in South America. [1] Zephyra elegans [2] (elegant zephyra) usually grows to a height of 1-3 feet. The plant contains small purple or white flowers and narrow, linear, glossy leaves. Zephyra compacta (the compact breeze plant) contains small flowers ranging in color from pale to dark purple and lanceolate shaped leaves. These plants grow closely together and typically reach a maximum height of 2 feet [3] .
