The following is a list of events from the year 1702 in Japan.
Keiō was a Japanese era name after Genji and before Meiji. The period spanned the years from May 1865 to October 1868. The reigning emperors were Kōmei-tennō (孝明天皇) and Meiji-tennō (明治天皇).
The capital of Japan is Tokyo. Throughout history, the national capital has been in locations other than Tokyo. The oldest capital of Japan is Nara.
Hirotoki Onozawa is a rugby union player who plays at Wing or occasionally Fullback for Canon Eagles. He previously played for Suntory Sungoliath and the Japan national rugby union team. Nicknamed "the eel" for his sharp sidestepping ability, Onozawa is the second most capped Japanese rugby player of all time, and fifth highest try scorer in international rugby. Despite spending much of his career in the shadow of Daisuke Ohata he is considered an all-time great of Japanese rugby in his own right.
The Daijō-daijin or Dajō-daijin was the head of the Daijō-kan during and after the Nara period and briefly under the Meiji Constitution. It was equivalent to the Chinese Tàishī (太師), or Grand Preceptor.
Japan Professional Sports Grand Prize is given to one sportsperson or sports team every year since 1968 by the Japan Professional Sports Association. The award is one of the most prestigious all-sport awards in Japanese sport. The recordholders are the baseball players Ichiro Suzuki and Sadaharu Oh. A committee of representatives from Tokyo newspapers, wire services, television and radio for sports media are responsible for making the selections. The winner is given the Prime Minister Trophy.
Kinema Junpo, commonly called Kinejun (キネ旬), is Japan's oldest film magazine and began publication in July 1919. It was first published three times a month, using the Japanese Jun (旬) system of dividing months into three parts, but the postwar Kinema Junpō has been published twice a month.

Yuki Yanagita, nicknamed "Gita (ギータ)", is a Japanese professional baseball outfielder for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He is a ten-time All-Star and a two-time Pacific League MVP, earning those honors in 2015 and 2020.
Kodai Senga is a Japanese professional baseball pitcher for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) debut in 2012 for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, and played for them until 2022. He is a three-time NPB All-Star and a one-time MLB All-Star.
China Film Director's Guild Awards (中国导演协会年度表彰大会) are presented by China Film Director's Guild annually to honor excellence in cinema of China.
The Meiji Yasuda J.League KONAMI Monthly MVP is an association football award that recognises the best player each month of the season in the J1 League, J2 League, and J3 League.
The J.League awards are represented by a ceremony, which is hosted every year in December, at the end of the season. This ceremony was inducted to award the best players of J.League. To win this award, the nominees had to play at least 17 matches of the season. All awards are updated to 2021.
Seiya Suzuki is a Japanese professional baseball outfielder for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. Suzuki is a five-time NPB All-Star, six-time NPB Best Nine Award winner, and a five-time winner of the NPB Golden Glove Award.

The 13th Seiyu Awards was held on March 9, 2019 at the JOQR Media Plus Hall in Minato, Tokyo. The winners of the Merit Awards, the Kei Tomiyama Award, the Kazue Takahashi Award, and the Synergy Award were announced on February 19, 2019. The rest of the winners were announced on the ceremony day. This year, there were four new award categories, which include the Foreign Movie/Series Award, the Game Award, the Influencer Award, and the Most Valuable Seiyu Award.
