Studio Ghibli, Inc. is a Japanese animation studio based in Koganei, Tokyo. It has a strong presence in the animation industry and has expanded its portfolio to include various media formats, such as short subjects, television commercials, and two television films. Their work has been well-received by audiences and recognized with numerous awards. Their mascot and most recognizable symbol, the character Totoro from the 1988 film My Neighbor Totoro, is a giant spirit inspired by raccoon dogs (tanuki) and cats (neko). Saiyuki: Requiem is the first animated film adaptation of the anime and manga series Saiyuki, produced by Pierrot. The events of the film take place after the first series. On the way west, the priest Genjo Sanzo and his three demonic companions, Son Goku, Sha Gojyo, and Cho Hakkai, save a girl who is being chased by a giant bird. Out of gratitude, she invites them to her house and provides them with food and shelter. Once there, strange things began to happen.
Masayuki Yamaguchi, more commonly known mononymously as Masayuki (摩砂雪), is a Japanese animator and director. He is best known for working on the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion and co-directing the first three Rebuild of Evangelion films.
