Dil To Pagal Hai won 10 awards, including Best Film, Best Actor (for Shah Rukh Khan), Best Actress (for Madhuri Dixit) and Best Supporting Actress (for Karisma Kapoor), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony.

Shahrukh Khan resigned his award and gave it to Salman Khan, although it wasn’t because Salman Khan because of him being nominated for this award but because of the entertainment Salman Khan gave on stage which turned out to be the best highlight.

Distributed by Mukta Arts, it stars Shah Rukh Khan, newcomers Mahima Chaudhry and Apurva Agnihotri, Alok Nath, Amrish Puri and Himani Shivpuri in leading roles. The film was theatrically released in India on 8 August 1997. It received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics, with praise for Khan, Chaudhry, and Agnihotri's performances. Pardes grossed over 409 million (US$5.1 million) worldwide, emerging as a commercial success, and was the fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 1997, behind Dil To Pagal Hai, Border, and Ishq.

The Zee Cine Award for Best Actor – Female is chosen by the members of Zee Entertainment Enterprises as part of its annual award ceremony for Hindi films, to recognise a female actor who has delivered an outstanding performance in a leading role. Following its inception in 1998, a ceremony wasn't held in 2009 and 2010, but resumed back in 2011.

The Zee Cine Award Best Film is chosen via the public of India. The winners are announced in March.

Border is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language epic war film directed, produced and written by J. P. Dutta. Set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, it is an adaptation of real life events that happened during the Battle of Longewala in 1971. The film stars an ensemble cast of Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, Puneet Issar and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Tabu, Raakhee, Pooja Bhatt and Sharbani Mukherjee feature in supporting roles.

<i>Virasat</i> (1997 film) 1997 Indian film

Virasat (transl. Inheritance) is a 1997 Indian action drama film, directed by Priyadarshan. The story was written by Kamal Haasan and remade after the success of the Tamil film Thevar Magan. Mushir-Riaz duo produced the film. It stars Anil Kapoor, Tabu, Amrish Puri, Pooja Batra, Milind Gunaji and Govind Namdeo. The music was composed by Anu Malik and S. P. Venkatesh, with the former composing the songs and the latter composing the score. The film marked the comeback for Priyadarshan in Hindi cinema. Music director Annu Malik reused some of the original tunes of Ilaiyaraaja from Thevar Magan. Tabu has done beatboxing in this movie for the song Payalay Chunmun.

The 3rd Zee Cine Awards also The 3rd Lux Zee Cine Awards ceremony, presented by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, honored the best Indian Hindi-language films of 1999. The ceremony was held on 11 March 2000 at Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai.
