Mali national basketball team represents Mali in men's international basketball competitions has yet to appear in the FIBA World Championship. Their best finish at the FIBA Africa Championship was in 1972 where they ended with a bronze medal.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">AfroBasket Women</span>

The AfroBasket Women is the women's basketball continental championship of Africa, played biennially under the auspices of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the African zone thereof. The tournament also serves to qualify teams for participation in the quadrennial FIBA Women's World Cup and the Olympic Games.

Jean-Jacques Nzadi da Conceição, more commonly known as J.J. Conceição or Jean-Jacques, is an Angolan-Portuguese retired professional basketball player. A 2.02 m, 100 kg (220 lbs.) power forward, he represented Angola at the AfroBasket, where he won a record seven African titles. At the club level, he won five Angolan League championship titles with Primeiro de Agosto and four Angolan Cups, before moving to Benfica in Portugal, where he won seven Portuguese national championships and three Portuguese Federation Cups. He also went on to play for CSP Limoges in France, Baloncesto Málaga in Spain, and Portugal Telecom in Portugal.

The FIBA Africa Championship 2001 was hosted by Morocco from August 4 to August 12, 2001. The games were played in Rabat and Casablanca. The top two countries in this FIBA Africa Championship earned the two berths allocated to Africa for the 2002 FIBA World Championship in the United States. Angola won the tournament, the country's 6th African championship, by beating Algeria 78-68 in the final. Both teams qualified for the 2002 FIBA World Championship.

The FIBA Africa Under-20 Championship was a basketball competition in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Africa zone. The event was held four times before being cancelled in 2004. The winner competed in the FIBA Under-21 World Championship.

The FIBA Africa Under-20 Championship for Women was a basketball competition in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Africa zone. The event was held only twice, in 2002 and 2006, before being cancelled. The winners competed in the FIBA Under-21 World Championship for Women.

The FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup is the under-17 men's world basketball championship organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The event was held for the first time in July 2010, and is held biennially.

The FIBA U16 African Championship is an under-16 basketball championship in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Africa zone. The tournament is held biennially. The top two teams in the competition qualify for the FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup.

The FIBA U18 African Championship is an under-18 basketball championship in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Africa zone. The tournament is held biennially. The top two teams qualify directly to the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup.

The FIBA U16 Women's African Championship is an under-16 basketball championship in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Africa zone. The tournament is held biennially. The top two teams qualify directly to the FIBA Under-17 Women's World Cup.
