The Angolan men's national basketball team is controlled by the Federação Angolana de Basquetebol. Angola has been a member of FIBA since 1979. Ranking 23rd in the FIBA World Rankings, Angola is the top team of FIBA Africa, and a regular competitor at the Summer Olympic Games and the FIBA World Cup.

Olímpio Cipriano is an Angolan basketball player who currently plays for Petro de Luanda and the Angola national team. A 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m) guard, he has been one of the most decorated basketball players in Angolan history, having won 12 Angolan Leagues and 11 Angolan Cups in his career.

The Ivorian Coast national basketball team is the men's basketball side that represents Ivory Coast in international competition. The team competes regularly in the African Championship and is administered by the Fédération Ivoirienne de Basket-Ball.

The Nigeria women's national basketball team, also known as D'Tigeress, represents Nigeria in international women's basketball competition, and are regulated by the Nigeria Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Nigeria. Nigeria has one of the most successful women's national teams on the African Continent, being the current African champions. They have won the Women's Afrobasket Championship consecutively for three times in a roll. They won in 2017 at Bamako, Mali, 2019 at Dakar, Senegal and in the year 2021 at Yaounder, Cameroun.

The 2003 FIBA Africa Championship was the 22nd FIBA Africa Championship, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the FIBA Africa thereof. The tournament was hosted by Egypt from August 7 to 16 2003.

South Africa national basketball team is the basketball team that represents South Africa in international competitions. The governing body of the team is Basketball South Africa.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">AfroBasket Women</span>

The AfroBasket Women is the women's basketball continental championship of Africa, played biennially under the auspices of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the African zone thereof. The tournament also serves to qualify teams for participation in the quadrennial FIBA Women's World Cup and the Olympic Games.

The FIBA Africa Under-20 Championship for Women was a basketball competition in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Africa zone. The event was held only twice, in 2002 and 2006, before being cancelled. The winners competed in the FIBA Under-21 World Championship for Women.

The Liberia national basketball team is the national basketball team representing Liberia. It is administrated by the Liberia Basketball Federation. Its last qualification to the FIBA Africa Championship dates back to 2007. Its most noteworthy international performance was in 1983 when Liberia finished among Africa's 10 elite basketball teams. According to the website, Afrobasket.com, the Liberia National Basketball team has not been in existence since 2013.

The FIBA U16 African Championship is an under-16 basketball championship in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Africa zone. The tournament is held biennially. The top two teams in the competition qualify for the FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup.

The FIBA U18 African Championship is an under-18 basketball championship in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Africa zone. The tournament is held biennially. The top two teams qualify directly to the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup.

The Angola national basketball team Under-18 represents Angola in international basketball matches and is controlled by the Federação Angolana de Basquetebol. At continental level, it competes at the FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship which is eligible for the FIBA Under-19 World Championship. Angola has been a member of FIBA since 1979.
