The Senegal national basketball team represents Senegal in men's international basketball and it is overseen by Federation Senegalaise de basketball, five time a gold medallist, a six time silver medallist, and a four time bronze medallist at the FIBA Africa Championship. Senegal was the first Sub-Saharan African team to qualify for the Summer Olympics Basketball Tournament.
The Nigeria national basketball team represents Nigeria in men's international basketball and it is overseen by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF).
The Angolan men's national basketball team is controlled by the Federação Angolana de Basquetebol. Angola has been a member of FIBA since 1979. Ranking 23rd in the FIBA World Rankings, Angola is the top team of FIBA Africa, and a regular competitor at the Summer Olympic Games and the FIBA World Cup.
The Central African Republic national basketball team is administered by the Fédération Centrafricaine de Basketball.
The Ivorian Coast national basketball team is the men's basketball side that represents Ivory Coast in international competition. The team competes regularly in the African Championship and is administered by the Fédération Ivoirienne de Basket-Ball.
The Cape Verde national basketball team represents Cape Verde in international basketball matches and is administered by the Federação Cabo-verdiana de Basquetebol.
Mali national basketball team represents Mali in men's international basketball competitions has yet to appear in the FIBA World Championship. Their best finish at the FIBA Africa Championship was in 1972 where they ended with a bronze medal.
The Nigeria women's national basketball team, also known as D'Tigeress, represents Nigeria in international women's basketball competition, and are regulated by the Nigeria Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Nigeria. Nigeria has one of the most successful women's national teams on the African Continent, being the current African champions. They have won the Women's Afrobasket Championship consecutively for three times in a roll. They won in 2017 at Bamako, Mali, 2019 at Dakar, Senegal and in the year 2021 at Yaounder, Cameroun.
The Mozambican national basketball team is the basketball team that represents Mozambique in international competitions. It is administrated by the Federação Moçambicana de Basquetebol (FMB).

He succeeded Portuguese-Angolan native Alberto Carvalho in 2009, and coached Angola at the FIBA Africa Championship 2009, where the team won its seventh consecutive African championship.
