Pervez Musharraf is a Pakistani politician and a retired four-star general who became the tenth president of Pakistan after the successful military takeover of the federal government in 1999. He held the presidency from 2001 until 2008, when he tendered his resignation to avoid impeachment.
The Pakistan Muslim League Urdu: پاکستان مسلم لیگ (ق); Pekistan Mislam Lig (Q), Acronyms: PML(Q), PML-Q, PMLQ) is a centrist to centre-right-nationalist political party in Pakistan. As of the 2018 parliamentary election, it has a representation of 5 seats. It previously served as an ally of former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf's government, and led a joint election campaign in 2013 alongside Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Punjab and Balochistan provinces against its rival Pakistan Muslim League (N), a fiscally conservative and centre-right force.
Pakistan experienced unprecedented economic growth during FY 2004. Its large-scale manufacturing sector grew at a rate of over 18%. Hard-currency reserves, having grown phenomenally in recent years, reached record levels. GDP growth reached 8.4% in the twelve months ending June 30, 2004. Pakistan's stock market has been one of the best-performing stock markets this century, as of 2005. The government's credit rating was upgraded by Moody's and Standard & Poor's. Pakistan announced that it no longer needed International Monetary Fund (IMF) assistance. The government's economic reforms were praised highly by supranational institutions such as the World Bank, IMF and the Asian Development Bank.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain is a senior Pakistani conservative politician hailing from Gujrat and a business oligarch who previously served as 16th prime minister of Pakistan from 30 June 2004 on a temporary basis during a transitional period to accommodate Shaukat Aziz till 28 August 2004. Hussain has been party president of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) since 2003, when he had followed party founder Mian Muhammad Azhar because of his lack of a parliamentary seat.
Shaukat Aziz is a Pakistani former banker and financier who served as 17th prime minister of Pakistan from 20 August 2004 to 15 November 2007, as well as the finance minister of Pakistan from 6 November 1999 to 15 November 2007. During his childhood he studied at St Patrick's High School, Karachi. Aziz graduated from the Institute of Business Administration in Karachi, and joined the corporate staff of the CitiBank Pakistan in 1969. He served in various countries' governments as CitiBank financier, and became executive vice-president of Citibank in 1999. After accepting a personal request by General Pervez Musharraf, Aziz returned to Pakistan from the United States to assume charge of the Finance Ministry as its finance minister while taking control of the country's economy. In 2004, Aziz was nominated by the Musharraf loyalist government led by Pakistan Muslim League (Q), to the position of Prime Minister after the resignation of Zafarullah Khan Jamali on 6 June 2004.

Zubaida Jalal, is a Pakistani politician who serves as the Minister for Defence Production of Pakistan. Also a teacher, libertarian and social activist by occupation, she assumed the office of Defence Production Minister on 20 August 2018.
Muhammad Mian Soomro is a Pakistani politician and a banker who currently serves as the federal minister for Privatization. Born to a royal Sindhi family originally linked to Soomra dynasty, he previously, served as the chairman of the Senate from 2003 to 2009, the caretaker prime minister of Pakistan from 2007 to 2008 and the acting president of Pakistan from 18 August 2008 to 9 September 2008.
Humayun Akhtar Khan is a Pakistani politician, business tycoon, and Actuary. He has been elected as a member of the National Assembly four consecutive times between 1990–2007, having served as Federal Minister for Trade and Commerce from 2002–2007 and as Chairman Board of Investment from 1997–1999. His father General Akhtar Abdur Rehman headed the ISI from 1979–1987, eventually going on to become Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Pakistan Armed Forces, while his brother Senator Haroon Akhtar Khan served as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Revenue from 2015–2018. Humayun is the Chairman of Akhtar Fuiou Technologies and Institute for Policy Reform and owns one of the largest conglomerates in Pakistan, comprising Tandlianwala Sugar Mills Group, Zamand Steel, Superior Textile Mill, and Lotte Akhtar Beverages.

Relations between Algeria and Pakistan are excellent. Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize the Provisional Government of Algerian Republic and its mission was opened in Karachi, the then capital of Pakistan in 1958. Both sides have convergence of views on issues of international importance. Both countries have also been supporting each other in various multilateral forums including UN, OIC and NAM. Algeria has an embassy in Islamabad and Pakistan has an embassy in Algiers.
Tassaduq Hussain Jillani is a Pakistani judge who served as the 21st Chief Justice of Pakistan from 2013 to 2014. He previously served as a Justice of the Supreme Court from 2004, after being nominated Justice of the Lahore High Court by Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in 1994.
