The women's 60 metres hurdles event at the 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held on 4 March with the final being held 18:40 local time. [1]

60 metres hurdles

60 metres hurdles is a distance in hurdling which is generally run in indoor competitions. It is equivalent with the first 60 metres including the first 5 hurdles of a standard outdoor hurdle race. The current women's and men's world records are 7.68 seconds and 7.30 seconds, respectively.

Over the course of the final five hurdles, Balzer and Press edged closer as Ikuko lost a little ground. Ciepły, Kilborn and Balzer landing at virtually the same moment and Press inches behind. On the run in, Balzer was able to gain just enough ground to take the gold over a straining Ciepły.

These are the official results of the Women's 100 metres hurdles event at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. The competition was held on the 4 & 8 of September. This was the first time this distance for women were help at the Olympics the previous distance of 80 metres were discontinued after the 1968 Games. If the Olympics were held two years earlier in 1970 the hands on favorite would have been Cheng Chi of the Republic of China who set several world records in that year. No one was the clear favorite coming into these games. Pam Kilborn and Karin Balzer were back for their third Olympic games.
