Uganda competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics which were held in Mexico City, Mexico from 12 to 27 October. The 1968 Summer Olympics were Uganda's fourth entry into an Olympic Games. Eleven athletes attended the Games to represent Uganda, eight boxers and three in track and field events.
Søren Marinus Jensen was a Danish sport wrestler who competed in the 1906 Intercalated Games and the 1908 and 1912 Summer Olympics. He won medals at each Game; however, the gold medals he won at the 1906 Games are no longer considered to be Olympic medals. He remains Denmark's most successful wrestler at the Olympics. In addition, he was World Champion in 1905 and won multiple European championship silver medals.
Aleksanteri Toivola was a Finnish wrestler and Olympic medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling. Born in Leningrad, Russia, he was also known as Aleksander Toivola.
Yrjö Armas Valkama was a Finnish diver who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics and in the 1924 Summer Olympics. He was born and died in Helsinki.

Petra Maria Paulina Vaarakallio is a Finnish retired ice hockey player and ringette player. She played on the women's ice hockey team for Finland at the 1998 Winter Olympics, and won a bronze medal. Vaarakallio scored the first-ever goal in women's ice hockey at the Olympics.
The 1962 World Rowing Championships were the inaugural world championships in rowing. The competition was held in September 1962 on the Rotsee in Lucerne, Switzerland. Rowers from West Germany dominated the competition, winning five of the seven boat classes.
Jukka Piironen was a Finnish pole vaulter who competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics. Piironen was born in Leppävirta and died in Helsinki, aged 50.
Frank Martin Dooley was an American competition swimmer who represented the United States at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. Dooley swam for the gold medal-winning U.S. team in the qualifying heats of the men's 4×200-meter freestyle relay. He did not receive a medal, however, because under the Olympic swimming rules in effect in 1952, only relay swimmers who competed in the event final were medal-eligible.
Yrjö Miettinen was a Finnish sports shooter. He competed in the 100 m running deer event at the 1952 Summer Olympics.
Heikki Hietanen was a Finnish freestyle swimmer. He competed in two events at the 1936 Summer Olympics.

The men's coxed four competition at the 1952 Summer Olympics took place at Mei Bay, Helsinki, Finland. It was held from 20 to 23 August and was won by the team from Czechoslovakia. There were 17 boats from 17 nations, with each nation limited to a single boat in the event. The gold medal was Czechoslovakia's first medal in the men's coxed four. Switzerland earned its third consecutive silver medal, and sixth medal in seven Games dating back to 1920. The reigning champion United States took bronze.
