The 2016 season was York Region Shooters's 19th season in the Canadian Soccer League. It began on May 29, 2016 and concluded on October 23, 2016. The club finished the regular season with the First Division title with a new defensive club record. The organization qualified for the playoffs for the 14th consecutive season, and secured a victory in the preliminary round against Milton SC. In the semifinal York Region was eliminated from the competition in a penalty shootout to Hamilton City SC.

Their reserve side managed to also play in the postseason by finishing fourth in the Second Division, and secured their second championship. For the fourth consecutive season Richard West finished as the club's top goalscorer with 13 goals.

Summary

In preparation for the 2016 season head coach Tony De Thomasis recruited several prominent Toronto Croatia veterans, and Caribbean internationals. Once the season commenced York Region produced an undefeated streak of eleven matches. [1] As a result, finished the season as the First Division champions with a new club defensive record. In the opening round of the postseason York Region defeated Milton SC by a score of 5-0. [2] In the semifinal the Shooters were defeated in a penalty shootout to Hamilton City SC. [3]

In the Second Division the reserve team concluded the season with a postseason berth. In the preliminary rounds of the playoffs York Region Region B defeated London City SC, and SC Waterloo Region. [4] [2] In the championship final the Shooters claimed their second championship title after defeating Toronto Atomic B 2-1. [5]

SC Waterloo Region is a professional Canadian soccer team that plays in the Canadian Soccer League, a non-FIFA-sanctioned league. The club was formed in 2011 under the name KW United FC and competed in the Second Division of the CSL. The following year the organization's name was changed to SC Waterloo Region and was promoted to the First Division. Within a short time Waterloo enjoyed a string of success within the league. The 2018 Canadian Soccer League season was the 21st season under the Canadian Soccer League name. The season began on May 13, 2018, and concluded on October 13, 2018, with the CSL Championship final held at Centennial Park Stadium in Toronto, Ontario. FC Vorkuta won their first championship by defeating Scarborough SC in a penalty shootout. Vorkuta found further success in the Second Division by winning their first CSL double after defeating Halton United in the finals. Meanwhile FC Ukraine United claimed the First Division title.

The 2018 season was Scarborough SC's fourth season in the Canadian Soccer League. Their season official commenced on May 19, 2018 in an away match against FC Ukraine United. The season proved to be a successful one as Scarborough managed to compete in the top four and ultimately secured a playoff berth by finishing fourth in the First Division. In the postseason tournament Scarborough successfully defeated Hamilton City SC, and FC Ukraine in the earlier rounds in order to reach the CSL Championship final for the second straight season. Their opposition in the finals were FC Vorkuta, but ultimately were defeated in a penalty shootout.

The 2018 season was Brantford Galaxy's seventh season in the Canadian Soccer League. Their season began on May 25, 2018 in an away match against CSC Mississauga. Despite the team's mediocre season they still clinched the final playoff berth. Their participation in the postseason was short lived as they were eliminated by FC Ukraine United in the first round. While their reserve squad faced a similar fate in the Second Division after losing to FC Vorkuta B in the opening round. The club's top goalscorer was Slavko Knezevic with three goals.

The 2017 Milton SC season was the fourth season in the club's participation in the Canadian Soccer League. They began the season on May 27, 2017 in an away match against FC Vorkuta. The season concluded with Milton securing a postseason berth by finishing sixth in the standings. In the preliminary rounds of the playoffs they were defeated by the York Region Shooters.

The 2010 CSL season was the 13th season in York Region Shooters participation in the Canadian Soccer League. The club ended their CSL campaign by claiming their third division title by finishing first in the First Division. In the postseason York Region faced an early departure after a defeat to Toronto Croatia in the preliminary round.

The 2011 CSL season was the 14th season in York Region Shooters participation in the Canadian Soccer League. The club ended their CSL campaign by securing the final postseason berth in the First Division. In the postseason York Region defeated division champions SC Toronto in the preliminary round, but were eliminated from the competition in the following round to Toronto Croatia. While in the Second Division their reserve team clinched a playoff berth after finishing third in the East Conference standings. Kadian Lecky was Vaughan's top goalscorer for the sixth consecutive time scoring a personal record of 15 goals.

The club returned to the top four by finishing second in the First Division, and finished in the top four with the best offensive, and defensive record. The organization qualified for the playoffs for the 11th consecutive season, but saw an early departure in the preliminary round. Their reserve side managed to also play in the postseason by finishing seventh in the Second Division. Their playoff journey began with victory in the opening round, but were eliminated in the following round. The club`s top goalscorer was Richard West with 19 goals who managed to end Kadian Lecky`s seven year streak.

The 2014 season was York Region Shooters's 17th season in the Canadian Soccer League. It began on May 25, 2014 and concluded on October 26 2014. The club ended the Canadian Soccer League campaign as champions without a single defeat – a record of 13 wins and 5 draws. Their perfect season also included the First Division title with York Region finishing eleven points ahead of Toronto Croatia. In the preliminary round of the postseason the club defeated Brampton City United. In the second round they defeated Astros Vasas FC, and Toronto Croatia in the CSL Championship final. For the second consecutive season striker Richard West finished as the club's top goalscorer with nine goals.

The 2019 Canadian Soccer League season was the 22nd season under the Canadian Soccer League name. The season started on May 19, 2019, and concluded on October 26, 2019, with the CSL Championship final. Fixtures for the 2019 season were announced on April 30, 2019. The final consisted of Scarborough SC defeating FC Ukraine United at Centennial Park Stadium in Toronto, Ontario to claim their first championship title. The First Division title went to FC Vorkuta along with the Second Division title, and championship. The single new addition to the First Division was Kingsman SC, and the departures occurred in the Second Division with Halton United, London City, and Milton SC becoming founding members of the Canadian Academy of Soccer League (CASL).

The 2015 season was York Region Shooters's 18th season in the Canadian Soccer League. It began on May 10, 2015 and concluded on October 18, 2015. York Region entered the season as reigning CSL champions after producing a perfect season in the previous campaign. After a difficult start to the season York Region managed to recover midway through the season, and secured a postseason berth. In the playoffs the Shooters won the opening match, but failed to successfully defend their championship title following a defeat to Toronto Croatia. While Richard West finished for the third consecutive season as the club's top goalscorer with 23 goals, and subsequently as the league's CSL Golden Boot winner.
