The 2017–18 Russian National Football League was the 26th season of Russia's second-tier football league since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The season began on 8 July 2017 and ended on 12 May 2018.

Notes:
  1. 1 2 3 4 On 30 May 2018, the league announced that FC Kuban Krasnodar (9th place), FC Tosno (relegated from the 2017–18 Russian Premier League) and FC Ararat Moscow (promoted from the 2017–18 Russian Professional Football League, zone Center) failed in their appeal to get the FNL license for the 2018–19 season. According to league regulation, 18th, 19th and 20th-placed teams will not be relegated. [1]
  2. 1 2 On 28 May 2018, the league announced that FC Volgar Astrakhan chose to get relegated voluntarily due to lack of financial opportunities. According to league regulations, Rotor Volgograd will not be relegated. [2]
  3. Russian Football Union announced on 11 May 2018, that none of the teams from the East zone of the 2017–18 Russian Professional Football League applied for the FNL license for the 2018–19 season. According to the league regulations, 16th-placed team will not be relegated. [3]

The Russian Football National League (FNL), formerly called Russian First Division is the second level of Russian professional football.

FC Rotor Volgograd russian football club from Volgograd

FC Rotor Volgograd is a Russian football (soccer) club from the large city of Volgograd, Volgograd Oblast. The club plays in the second-level Russian National Football League. They are the largest and best supported Volgograd club and for most of their existence have been the city's only representatives in the national league system. FC Armavir is a Russian association football club from Armavir, founded in 1959.
