Rankings from AP Poll

The 2017 USC Trojans football team represented the University of Southern California in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They played their home games at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as members of the South Division of the Pac-12 Conference. They were led by second-year head coach Clay Helton. They finished the season 11–3, 8–1 in Pac-12 play to be champions of the South Division. They represented the South Division in the Pac-12 Championship Game where they defeated Stanford to become Pac-12 Champions. They were invited to play in the Cotton Bowl where they were soundly defeated at the hands of Ohio State, 24–7.

NFL Combine

The official list of participants for the 2017 NFL Combine was released on Wednesday (February 15), featuring USC football players OT Zach Banner, TB Justin Davis, CB Adoree’ Jackson, OG Damien Mama, WR Darreus Rogers, WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, NT Stevie Tu’ikolovatu and OT Chad Wheeler.

The eight Trojans were tested at the Combine in Indianapolis beginning on February 28 through March 6.

Trojans who didn't nab an invite include S Leon McQuay III, TE Taylor McNamara, LB Michael Hutchings, LB Quinton Powell, OG Jordan Simmons, WR De'Quan Hampton, WR Isaac Whitney & LS Zach Smith. They waited until USC's Pro Day to get in front of NFL scouts

John Sherman"JuJu" Smith-Schuster is an American professional football wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the USC Trojans, earning second-team All-American honors in 2015. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft. With the Chiefs, he won Super Bowl LVII over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 2016 USC Trojans football team represented the University of Southern California in the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They played their home games at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as part of the South Division of the Pac-12 Conference. They were led by head coach Clay Helton in his first full season after replacing Steve Sarkisian in the sixth game of the 2015 season. They finished the season 10–3, 7–2 in Pac-12 play to finish in second place in the South Division. They were invited to the Rose Bowl where they defeated Big Ten Conference champion Penn State.

Chad Wheeler is a former American football offensive tackle. He played college football for the USC Trojans football team from 2012 to 2016. At the end of the 2016 season, he was selected as a first-team All-Pac-12 player. He was also chosen by Campus Insiders. In college, he suffered multiple concussions, a torn ACL, and a bout of plantar fasciitis. He was not drafted out of college due to injuries and off-the-field issues, was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent, and made his NFL debut in 2017. He played for the Seattle Seahawks from 2019 to 2020. He was waived from the team after being charged with three counts of felony domestic violence.

Josh Imatorbhebhe is a world-record holder and former American football wide receiver. He played college football at the University of Illinois. Despite playing two years as a graduate transfer with the Illini, he finished his career 7th on the school's all-time receiving touchdowns list. In 2020, he led the team in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. In his college pro day he broke the NFL standing vertical jump record at 46.5 inches. He signed as an un-drafted free agent after the NFL Draft to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021. After sustaining a quad injury in training camp he got released in the preseason. Josh was brought back to the team Week 7 before getting released again during the end. He chose to pre-maturely retire and now works in finance in NYC.

Travis Dye is an American professional football running back who is a free agent. He played college football for the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans.

Isaiah Pola-Mao is an American professional football safety for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at USC and was signed by the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2022.

Natorian "Duece" Watts is an American professional football wide receiver for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Jones College and Tulane.

Terrell Bynum is an American professional football wide receiver who is a free agent. He played college football for the Washington Huskies and USC Trojans and was signed by the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2023.
