The 2019 Cleveland Indians season was the 119th season for the franchise. It was the seventh season under the leadership of manager Terry Francona and fourth under general manager Mike Chernoff. The Indians played their home games at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. In April 2019, the Indians extended Francona's contract for two more years. [1] Although they improved upon their 91–71 campaign from the previous season, they failed to win the American League Central (due to the Minnesota Twins going 101–61) and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2015.

The Florida Marlins' 2007 season was the 15th season for the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise in the National League. It would begin with the team attempting to improve on their promising 78–84 record in 2006. Despite the success of the team under manager Joe Girardi, he was fired and replaced with Fredi González.
The 2006 Cincinnati Reds season was the 137th season for the franchise in Major League Baseball, and their fourth season at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. It was the first season for the Indians playing at Jacobs Field after playing at Cleveland Stadium since 1946.
The 2003 Cleveland Indians season was the 103rd season for the franchise. The 2003 Major League Baseball season began on March 30, 2003. The team finished fourth in the American League Central Division behind the Minnesota Twins, Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals

The Twins began the season on March 29 on the road against the Baltimore Orioles and ended the season at home against the Chicago White Sox. The Twins finished the 2018 season at 78–84, 13 games out of first place in a weak American League Central division. The record led to the firing of manager Paul Molitor the day after the season ended. Also, this season would prove to be the 15th and final season for career Twin Joe Mauer, who retired following the season.
