The 2020 European Junior Badminton Championships is being held at the Pajulahti Sports Institute in Lahti, Finland from 29 October to 7 November 2020 to crown the best U-19 badminton players across Europe.

Tournament

The 2020 European Junior Badminton Championships was organized by Badminton Europe. [1] This tournament consists of team and individual events. There are 16 teams competing in the mixed team event, which is being held from 29 October to 2 November, [2] while the individual events will be held from 2 to 7 November. Lithuania had to withdrew from the tournament due to one of the team member tested positive for COVID-19. [3]

Virpi Sarasvuo Finnish cross-country skier

Virpi Katriina Sarasvuo is a Finnish former cross-country skier who competed from 1995 to 2010. She won a bronze medal in the team sprint event at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and earned her best individual finish of fifth in the individual sprint event in those same games. Four years later in Vancouver, Kuitunen won another bronze, this time in the 4 × 5 km relay.

FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2001

The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2001 took place February 15–25, 2001 in Lahti, Finland for a record sixth time, previous events being held in 1926, 1938, 1958, 1978 and 1989. This would serve as a prelude to further doping cases in cross country skiing at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City the following year.

The BWF World Junior Championships is a tournament organized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to crown the best junior badminton players (under-19) in the world. The 2018 edition of the European Men's and Women's Team Badminton Championships was held in Kazan, Russia, from 13 to 18 February 2018. This tournament also served as European qualification for the 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup.

The XXII 2018 Pan Am Badminton Championships is a continental championships tournament of badminton in Pan America. This tournament were held as two events in different countries. From 15 to 18 February, the team event was held in Tacarigua, Trinidad and Tobago. From 26 to 29 April, the individual event will be held in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

The 2019 African Badminton Championships is the continental badminton championships to crown the best players and teams across Africa. The tournament were held at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Centre in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, from 22–28 April.

The XXIII 2019 Pan Am Badminton Championships was a continental championships tournament of badminton in Pan America. This tournament were held as two events in different countries. From 14 to 17 February, the team event was held in Lima, Peru. From 25 to 28 April, the individual event were held in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

The 2019 Badminton Asia Junior Championships was the 22nd edition of the Asia continental junior championships to crown the best U-19 badminton players across Asia. This tournament was held in Suzhou, China from 20 to 28 July 2019.

The tournament will be hosted by Aarhus, Denmark.

The 2020 edition of the European Men's and Women's Team Badminton Championships was held in Liévin, France, from 11 to 16 February 2020. This tournament also serves as European qualification for the 2020 Thomas & Uber Cup.

2020 Badminton Asia Team Championships

The 2020 Badminton Asia Team Championships was staged at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila, Philippines, from 11 to 16 February 2020. This championships was organized by the Badminton Asia with Philippine Badminton Association as host organiser and sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. This tournament served as the Asian qualifiers for the 2020 Thomas & Uber Cup in Denmark. Competitors could also accumulate points as part of qualification process for 2020 Summer Olympics badminton tournament in Tokyo. Indonesia and Japan were the defending champions on men's and women's category respectively. They both successfully defended their title.

The XXIV 2020 Pan Am Badminton Championships is a continental championships tournament of badminton in Pan America. This tournament were held as two events in different countries. From 13 to 16 February, the team event will hold in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. From 23 to 26 April, the individual event will be held in Lima, Peru.

The 2020 Veikkausliiga is the ninetieth season of top-tier football in Finland with KuPS being the defending champions.
