The 7th AEAUSA to be held in New Jersey. The award show to be hosted by Nancy Isime, Idris Sultan, and Jynnyn Edwards. [1] The nominees were announced on 1 November 2021, following the opening of the voting portal (vote.aeausa.net), with Wizkid leading with eight nominations. Tems, and Diamond Platnumz with six nominations. Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, and Focalistic with five nominations. Wizkid had the highest award winnings at the 7th AEAUSA Awards by securing 5 awards at the ceremony. [2]

This year's award included a new category named the Best African Movie, to support the creation of quality Nigerian movies, with a non-voting category awarded to Julius Maada Bio, Teni, Oluwole Ogundare, Peggy Kenol, Nyla Tamin, and Empak Corp. [3] The 7th African Entertainment Awards USA, was produced by Dominic Tamin, Nyla Tamin, Oluwole Ogundare, and Peggy Kenol. [3] [4]

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Born in the Ojuelegba suburb of Surulere, Lagos, Wizkid is a voice in the emerging Afrobeats movement. His music is a blend of Afrobeats, afropop, R&B, afrobeat, reggae, dancehall, and pop. He began recording music at the age of 11 and released a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. In 2009, Wizkid signed a record deal with Banky W's Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E). He rose to the limelight after releasing "Holla at Your Boy", the lead single from his debut studio album, Superstar (2011), which also spawned the singles "Tease Me/Bad Guys" and "Don't Dull".

The Headies is a music awards show established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognize outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry. The annual ceremony features performances by established and promising artists. It is broadcast live on HipTV to viewers across Nigeria. The first and second editions of The Headies were held at the Muson Center in Onikan, Lagos State. Between 2010 and 2012, the awards were held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. Raymond Shaban, better known by his stage name Rayvanny, is a Tanzanian musician, songwriter and recording artist who was signed under WCB Wasafi record label until July 2022. He was born and raised in Nzovwe ward of Mbeya city, located in Mbeya Region. He is the most successful bongo flava musician in Tanzania from Mbeya region. His songs are mainly in Swahili. He is also the founder and CEO of Next Level Music. Rayvanny is best known by his song "Kwetu", which introduced him to the world. Rayvanny was mentioned by MTV Base among "Acts To Look Out For" in 2017.

<i>Made in Lagos</i> 2020 studio album by Wizkid

Made in Lagos is the fourth studio album by Nigerian singer Wizkid. It was released on 30 October 2020 by Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records. The album features guest appearances from Burna Boy, Skepta, H.E.R., Ella Mai, Tay Iwar, Projexx, Tems, Damian Marley, Terri and was executive produced by P2J. The deluxe edition was released on 27 August 2021. It features additional guest appearances from Buju and Justin Bieber. In support of the album, Wizkid embarked on the Made in Lagos Tour (2021–2022). The album received a nomination at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Global Music Album.

The 6th AEAUSA was held at New Jersey on December 20, 2020 with no live audience due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony was broadcast live on AEAUSA YouTube channel. Nominees were revealed on October 9, 2020. The ceremony seeks to reward excellence in entrepreneurship, community leadership, and the entrainment industry in Africa and the diaspora.

Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, known professionally as Bella Shmurda, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.
