The 2022 Nepal Super League will be the second season of the Nepal Super League, the top flight franchise based club football league of Nepal. [1] A total of ten franchises will participate in the tournament to be played at the Dasharath Rangasala from 8 April to 21 May 2022. [2] Kathmandu Rayzrs won the inaugural season after beating Dhangadhi FC in the final on 15 May 2021. [3] [4] In addition to the seven founding members, three new franchises were added. Jhapa FC will represent Jhapa, Province No. 1, Sporting Ilam De Mechi FC the Ilam, Province No. 1 and Birgunj United FC the Birgunj, Province No. 2.

Birganj is a metropolitan city in Parsa District in Madhes Pradesh in southern Nepal. It lies 135 km (84 mi) south of the capital Kathmandu, attached in the north to Raxaul on the border of the Indian state of Bihar. As an entry point to Nepal from Patna, Birganj is known as the "Gateway of Nepal". It is also called the "Commercial Capital of Nepal". The town has significant economic importance for Nepal as most of the trade with India is via Birganj and the Indian town of Raxaul. The Tribhuvan Highway links Birgunj to Nepal's capital, Kathmandu.

The 2021 Nepal Super League was the first season of the Nepal Super League, the first professional franchise based club football league of Nepal. A total of seven franchises participated in the tournament played at the Dasharath Rangasala from 24 April to 15 May 2021. Kathmandu Rayzrs won the title after beating Dhangadhi FC in the final on 15 May 2021.
