The event hosted a Heavyweight Grand Prix between eight contestants, which included the reigning Glory heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven. [1] [2]
Two title fights were held during the event: a Glory Lightweight Championship bout between Tyjani Beztati and Enriko Kehl, [3] as well as a Glory Light Heavyweight Championship bout between Donegi Abena and Tarik Khbabez. [4]

A professional since 2004, he also competed in the K-1, It's Showtime and SUPERKOMBAT promotions. He is currently ranked the number one heavyweight in the world by Combat Press. Verhoeven has been continually ranked as the number one heavyweight kickboxer in the world by Combat Press since September 2014, when the rankings were first established.
Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong is a Thai Muay Thai kickboxer who is currently signed to ONE Championship. Sitthichai is a former Lumpinee Stadium Welterweight Champion and Glory Lightweight Champion. He is ranked as the third best light heavyweight in the world by Combat Press as of September 2022, and third best by Beyond Kickboxing as of October 2022.
Enriko Kehl, is a German Muay Thai kickboxer who competes in the Lightweight division of GLORY, he previously competed in the Featherweight division of ONE Championship. He is the 2014 K-1 World Max Championship Tournament Champion. Kehl was voted German Kickboxer of the Year in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Tayfun Özcan is a Dutch-Turkish kickboxer, born and raised in Tilburg, Netherlands. He is the former Enfusion 72.5 kg and 70 kg World champion.
Luis Tavares is a Dutch-Cape Verdean kickboxer. He is the former Enfusion Heavyweight and Super Heavyweight champion.
Endy Semeleer is a Curaçaoan-Dutch kickboxer who competes in the welterweight division of Glory, where he is the reigning welterweight champion. Tarik Khbabez is a Moroccan-Dutch kickboxer currently signed to Glory, where he is the Glory Light Heavyweight Champion. He formerly competed SUPERKOMBAT Fighting Championship, having won the SUPERKOMBAT World Grand Prix Heavyweight Tournament in 2015. Khbabez has also competed in ONE Championship is a former ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing world title challenger. In 2021, he was the runner up for the Glory 77: Rotterdam Heavyweight Tournament.
Donegi Abena is a Surinamese-Dutch kickboxer, currently competing in the Light Heavyweight division of Glory, where he is the former Glory Light Heavyweight champion.
Tyjani Beztati is a Moroccan-Dutch kickboxer currently competing in the Lightweight division of Glory. He is the current Glory Lightweight Champion and is a former two-time Glory Lightweight title challenger.
Levi Rigters is a Dutch kickboxer currently signed with Glory, where he competes in the heavyweight division. He is a former Enfusion Heavyweight Champion and 2020 Glory 76 Heavyweight Tournament winner.

Glory 77: Rotterdam was available on Pay-per-view through Glory and official distribution partnerships with FITE TV, Spike Netherlands, Sport Extra and La Sueur,.
