BigBang is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment. The group consists of three members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung. Originally a five-piece band, Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in March 2019 and T.O.P left in May 2023. "Lollipop" is a song by Big Bang and 2NE1, created to promote a cellphone by LG Cyon. It interpolates the 1958 hit "Lollipop" written by Julius Dixson and Beverly Ross. The song achieved the top spot on various online charts, including a four week run at number one on music portal Mnet. "Lollipop" was used to debut 2NE1 unofficially, as it does not serve as their debut single. 2NE1 followed up with their official debut single "Fire".

The EP was acclaimed by critics and went to win the award for Best R&B & Soul Album at the 6th Korean Music Awards. Hot was followed by his first full-length studio album Solar (2010), which was released in July 2010 and peaked atop the Gaon Album Chart.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Fire (2NE1 song)</span> 2009 single by 2NE1

"Fire" is the debut single by South Korean girl group 2NE1. YG Entertainment released the song to digital outlets on May 6, 2009, as the lead single for the group's self-titled debut extended play (2009). Despite the group having appeared alongside labelmate Big Bang for the promotional single "Lollipop" in March 2009, "Fire" served as 2NE1's official debut. The song nevertheless became a hit on all Korean charts following its release.

Teddy Park is a Korean–American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Park moved to the United States with his family as a young child. When he was 17 years old, Park and his friend Danny flew to South Korea during summer vacation to audition for YG Entertainment. Both were signed immediately, and after finishing high school in the States, moved to Korea to pursue music.

<i>Solar</i> (Taeyang album) 2010 studio album by Taeyang

Solar is the first studio album by South Korean recording artist Taeyang, a member of the boy group Big Bang. It was released via YG Entertainment on July 1, 2010, and was distributed in three formats—a regular edition, a deluxe edition and was made available for digital consumption. Four singles were spawned from the album: "Where U At", "Wedding Dress" and "I Need a Girl" and "I'll Be There".

<i>To Anyone</i> 2010 studio album by 2NE1

To Anyone is the debut studio album by South Korean girl group 2NE1. It was released on September 9, 2010, by YG Entertainment and CJ E&M Music. 2NE1 worked alongside YG CEO Yang Hyun Suk, Teddy, and e.knock to produce the album. Sonically, the album was described as a pop record, integrating other genres including R&B, dance, and hip hop.

2NE1 were a South Korean girl group signed to YG Entertainment, with members CL, Bom, Dara, and Minzy making up the quartet. <i>2NE1</i> (2011 EP) 2011 EP by 2NE1

2NE1 is the second eponymous extended play by South Korean girl group 2NE1. It was released on July 28, 2011, through YG Entertainment, in both physical and digital formats. It was distributed by KMP Holdings. 2NE1 2nd Mini Album, like its predecessors 2NE1 1st Mini Album (2009) and To Anyone (2010), was primarily written and produced by Teddy Park, with additional songwriting contributions from Kush and Lydia Paek. The EP was re-released as the group's debut Japanese record titled Nolza on September 21, 2011, under YGEX.

<i>Alive</i> (BigBang EP) 2012 EP by Big Bang

Alive is the fifth Korean extended play by South Korean boy group Big Bang, released through YG Entertainment on February 29, 2012. Musically, it is a dance and electronic record that incorporates elements of hip hop and R&B. BigBang members G-Dragon and T.O.P wrote and produced the lyrics and music for nearly all tracks on the album. Alive spawned three digital singles that were released within the week prior—"Blue", "Fantastic Baby", and "Bad Boy", all three of which peaked within the top three positions on the Gaon Digital Chart.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Falling in Love (2NE1 song)</span> 2013 single by 2NE1

"Falling in Love" is a song by South Korean girl group 2NE1, released on July 8, 2013 by YG Entertainment. The song was produced by the group's long-time collaborator Teddy, and was co-written by him and Choice37. Musically, "Falling in Love" is a breezy K-pop song that contains elements of reggae, electronic and hip hop. The music video was uploaded to the group's official YouTube channel the day before.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Good Boy (song)</span> 2014 single by GD X Taeyang

"Good Boy" is a song recorded by South Korean duo GD X Taeyang, members of the boy band Big Bang. It was released on November 21, 2014, as the second hip-hop project from YG Entertainment, the first being "Niliria" by G-Dragon featuring Missy Elliott a year prior. The single was written by G-Dragon, who also produced it along with the Fliptones and Freedo. "Good Boy" became a chart-topper on Billboard's World Digital Songs and a Top 5 hit on the Gaon Digital Chart. Additionally, a physical single was released and topped the Gaon Albums Chart.

"Stay" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group Blackpink. It was released on November 1, 2016, together with "Playing with Fire", as the group's second digital single album titled Square Two, through YG Entertainment. The song was written by Teddy and produced by him alongside Seo Won Jin. Commercially, "Stay" peaked at number ten on the Gaon Digital Chart.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lollipop Pt. 2</span> 2010 promotional single by Big Bang

"Lollipop Pt. 2" is a song recorded by South Korean group Big Bang for to promote a cellphone by LG Cyon. The recording also was released as their sixth digital single on February 19, 2010, by YG Entertainment. It was produced by Teddy and co-written with G-Dragon and T.O.P. The song peaked at number three on the Gaon Digital Chart, with 1,337,098 copies sold in the year of 2010.
