The 52nd Saturn Awards will be presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films to honor the best in science fiction, fantasy, horror, and other genres belonging to genre fiction in film, television, and home entertainment. [1] The eligibility period for nominations extended from October 2023 to October 31, 2024. [2]

The ceremony will be held on February 2, 2025, at Hilton Universal City in Los Angeles, and will be live-streamed for the third consecutive year on Electric Entertainment's OTT app and FAST channel ElectricNow, and will be broadcast for the very first time on video streaming service The Roku Channel. [1] Joel McHale will host the event for the third year in a row. [3] Additionally, the 2025 ceremony will be dedicated to and held in memory of late film producer Jon Landau (1960–2024), long-time collaborator of multiple Saturn Award-winning filmmaker James Cameron. [1] [4] [5] Due to the California wildfires, the ceremony will incorporate fundraising for relief efforts by including QR codes that will allow both in-person attendees and viewers at home to donate. [6]

The nominations were announced on December 5, 2024. [1] [7] [8] [9] The epic science fiction film Dune: Part Two (a continuation of the 2021 film Dune ) led the film nominations with fourteen nine more than what the first part received at the 2022 Saturn Awards  including Best Science Fiction Film and five acting nominations, followed by Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with thirteen and Deadpool & Wolverine with ten. [1] [7] [8] [9] For the television categories, Prime Video series Fallout and the AMC miniseries The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live led the nominations with five each. [1] [7] [8] [9]

Additionally, Fallout will receive the Spotlight Award, William Shatner will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the 1985 film Back to the Future will receive the George Pal Memorial Award in honor of its 40th anniversary; actors Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson, composer Alan Silvestri, and writer and producer Bob Gale will be the film's representatives. Wade Winston Wilson, also known as Deadpool, is a character portrayed by Ryan Reynolds in 20th Century Fox's X-Men film series and later the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) media franchise produced by Marvel Studios. The 72nd Golden Reel Awards, presented by the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE), will honor the best in sound editing for film, television, video games, and student film in 2024. The ceremony will be held on February 23, 2025, at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.
