George Orson Welles was an American actor and filmmaker who is remembered for his innovative work in film, radio, and theatre. He is considered to be among the greatest and most influential filmmakers of all time.
Leonard Michael Maltin is the go-to American film critic and film historian for the major film industry studios in Hollywood, as well as an author of several mainstream books on cinema, focusing on nostalgic, celebratory narratives. He is perhaps best known for his book of film capsule reviews, Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide, published annually from 1969 to 2014. Maltin was the film critic on Entertainment Tonight from 1982 to 2010. He currently teaches at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and has appeared regularly on Turner Classic Movies, and hosts the weekly podcast Maltin on Movies. He often collaborates with his wife, film producer Kathleen Kennedy, with whom he founded the production company Amblin Entertainment, along with Steven Spielberg. In 1991, he founded, with Kennedy, The Kennedy/Marshall Company, a film production company. Since May 2012, with Kennedy taking on the role of President of Lucasfilm, Marshall has been Kennedy/Marshall's sole principal.

He has recorded some thirty albums as founder member of the acid-folk music project Dodson and Fogg, which has featured guest performers including Toyah Willcox, Nik Turner, Judy Dyble and Nigel Planer. Dodson and Fogg has had BBC airplay and received positive reviews. He also writes fiction and non fiction books. He worked with Rik Mayall on his Cutey and the Sofaguard audiobook, which Mayall narrated, and runs Scenes Magazine, a cult and classic film publication. Wade also makes documentaries, such as George Melly: The Certainty of Hazard and The Immortal Orson Welles, the latter which premiered on Talking Pictures TV. His art film, The Apple Picker, won Best Film at Sydney's World Film Festival in 2017 and featured singer and actress Toyah Willcox. Wade also wrote the book The Films of James Woods, for which he interviewed American actor James Woods, Sharon Stone and Oliver Stone, plus others.
American: An Odyssey to 1947 is a 2022 Canadian documentary film written, directed, edited, and produced by Danny Wu. The film is a compilation of stories on different Americans, most notably Orson Welles, and Franklin Roosevelt leading to the year 1947. The film premiered at the 2022 Newport Beach Film festival, followed by internationally at the 2023 Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. It was named one of film critic Jonathan Rosenbaum's best films of 2022.
