Aarhus North nominating district is one of the 92 nominating districts that exists for Danish elections following the 2007 municipal reform. [3] [4] [5] It is one of the four nomination districts in Aarhus Municipality, the others being Aarhus South, Aarhus West and

Aarhus East. [6] It was established as a constituency in 1895 [7] as Aarhus County 2, became Aarhus County 3 in 1915, and became a nomination district in 1920. It obtained its current configuration and name in 1970, with the boundaries being slightly modified in 2007.

In general elections, the district is a very strong area for parties commonly associated with the red bloc, and was the district where they received their highest vote share outside the Copenhagen constituency in the 2022 Danish general election. [8]
