This was Maine's first election for its Class 2 seat to use its ranked choice voting system. Because the first round of the general election saw a majority (51%),the instant runoff tabulation of more than 800,000 ballots was not carried out.

Golden,along with Angus King and Chellie Pingree,are the first members of Congress to be elected by ranked-choice voting. Golden is the only member of Congress elected after finishing second in the first round of tabulation. He was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as a United States Marine.
The 2022 Arizona Attorney General election took place on November 8,2022,to elect the next attorney general of Arizona concurrently with other federal and state elections. Incumbent Republican attorney general Mark Brnovich was term-limited and could not seek a third term in office. With a margin of 0.01%,Democrat Kris Mayes defeated Republican Abe Hamadeh in one of the closest elections in Arizona history,and the closest attorney general race of the 2022 election cycle.
Two related investigations by New York State and City officials were opened by 2020 to determine whether the Trump Organization has committed financial fraud. One of these is a criminal case being conducted by the Manhattan district attorney (DA) and the other is a civil case being conducted by the New York State Attorney General (AG). The DA's case has led to two of the organization's subsidiary companies being found guilty of 17 charges including tax fraud and the indictment of Donald Trump,while the AG has succeeded in imposing an independent monitor to prevent future fraud by the organization.
