Monroe County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 168,327. Its county seat is Stroudsburg. The county was formed from sections of Northampton and Pike counties on April 1, 1836.
East Stroudsburg is a borough in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located in the Poconos region of the state. Originally known as "Dansbury", East Stroudsburg was renamed for geographic reasons when the Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad opened a station in town. Despite its name being derivative of its bordering borough, Stroudsburg, it has almost twice the population. East Stroudsburg is the largest municipality in Monroe County and in the East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Metropolitan Statistical Area as designated by the Office of Management and Budget based on data from the 2010 US Census.

The Ashton-Hursh House is a historic home and outbuilding located at 204 Limekiln Road in Fairview Township, York County, Pennsylvania. Built in stages between approximately 1764 and 1830, it is a 2+1⁄2-story, "L"-shaped, Federal style log, frame, and stone dwelling. Situated on a limestone foundation, the home also has a gable roof and three Greek Revival-style porticos. The frame outbuilding may date as early as 1734; it was renovated circa 1830. The outbuilding is believed by historians to be York County's oldest occupied structure.

Kitson Woolen Mill, also known as the Holland Thread Company building, is a historic woolen mill complex located at Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. The complex consists of four brick buildings built between 1893 and 1904. They are arranged in a "U"-shape and consist of the "East Wing," "West Wing," boiler house, and office. The Kitson Woolen Mill was in operation until 1928, after which the mill was occupied by the Holland Thread Company until 1978.
Monroe County Courthouse is a historic county courthouse located in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. The original section was built in 1890, and is a three-story, ashlar sandstone and limestone building measuring 65 feet (20 m) wide and 180 feet (55 m) long. It is in the Romanesque Revival style. An identically sized addition was built in 1934, as a Public Works Administration project.
