Lviv Oblast is subdivided into districts ( raions ) which are subdivided into municipalities ( hromadas ).
On 18 July 2020, the number of districts was reduced to seven. [1] [2] These are:

Before July 2020, Lviv Oblast was subdivided into 29 regions: 20 districts ( raions ) and 9 city municipalities (mis'krada or misto), officially known as territories governed by city councils. [4]

Horodok Raion was a raion (district) in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center was the city of Horodok. The area of the district was 727 square kilometres (281 sq mi). It bordered with Yavoriv, Pustomyty, Mykolaiv, Drohobych, Sambir, and Mostyska raions. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Lviv Oblast to seven. The area of Horodok Raion was merged into newly established Lviv Raion. The last estimate of the population of the raion was 68,428.
Kamianka-Buzka Raion was a raion in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center was Kamianka-Buzka. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Lviv Oblast to seven. The area of Kamianka-Buzka Raion was split between Lviv and Chervonohrad raions. The last estimate of the raion population was 57,389.
Sambir Raion is a raion (district) in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center is Sambir. Population: 221,896. It was established in 1965.
Stryi Raion is a raion (district) in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center is Stryi. Population: 319,464.
Yavoriv Raion is a raion (district) in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center is Yavoriv. It was established in 1939. Its estimated population is 177,662.

Four abolished raions, Horodok, Peremyshliany, Pustomyty, and Zhovkva Raions, as well as Lviv Municipality and parts of Kamianka-Buzka and Zolochiv Raions, were merged into Lviv Raion. Population: 1,141,119.
Sheptytskyi Raion is a raion (district) of Lviv Oblast, Ukraine. It was created as Chervonohrad Raion on 18 July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine. The center of the raion is the city of Sheptytskyi. Two abolished raions, Radekhiv and Sokal Raions, as well as Chervonohrad Municipality and part of Kamianka-Buzka Raion, were merged into the new raion. Population: 226,102.
Novyi Yarychiv is a rural settlement in Lviv Raion of Lviv Oblast in Ukraine. It is located approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from the center of the city of Lviv. It hosts the administration of Novyi Yarychiv settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: 2,955.
Rozdil is a rural settlement in Stryi Raion of Lviv Oblast in Ukraine. It is located close to the right bank of the Dniester. Rozdil belongs to Novyi Rozdil urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: 2,393.
