Kherson Oblast is subdivided into five districts ( raions ) which are subdivided into territorial communities ( hromadas ).
On 18 July 2020, the number of districts was reduced from eighteen to five (which now also includes the four former city municipalities). [1] [2] These are:

Before July 2020, Kherson Oblast was subdivided into 22 regions: 18 districts ( raions ) and 4 city municipalities (mis'krada or misto), officially known as territories governed by city councils. [3]
Kherson Oblast, also known as Khersonshchyna, is an oblast (province) in southern Ukraine. It is located just north of Crimea. Beryslav Raion is one of the five administrative raions of Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. Its administrative center is located in the city of Beryslav. Its population was 55,976 as of the 2001 Ukrainian Census. Current population: 94,103.
Henichesk Raion is one of the five administrative raions (districts) of Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. Its administrative centre is located in the city of Henichesk. Population: 118,059.
Hola Prystan Raion was one of the 18 administrative raions of Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. Its administrative center was located in the city of Hola Prystan, which was incorporated separately as a city of oblast significance and did not belong to the raion. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Kherson Oblast to five. The area of Hola Pristan Raion was merged into Skadovsk Raion. The last estimate of the raion population was 44,639

The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Kherson Oblast to five. The area of Hornostaivka Raion was merged into Kakhovka Raion. The last estimate of the raion population was 18,993
Kakhovka Raion is one of the administrative raions of Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. Its administrative center is located in the city of Nova Kakhovka. Population: 216,458.
Skadovsk Raion is one of the five administrative raions (districts) of Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. Its administrative center is located in the city of Skadovsk. Population: 122,745.
