Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast is subdivided into districts ( raions ) which are further subdivided into territorial communities ( hromadas ).

On 18 July 2020, the number of districts was reduced to six. [1] These are:

  1. Ivano-Frankivsk (Івано-Франківський район), the center is in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk;
  2. Kalush (Калуський район), the center is in the city of Kalush;
  3. Kolomyia (Коломийський район), the center is in the city of Kolomyia;
  4. Kosiv (Косівський район), the center is in the city of Kosiv;
  5. Nadvirna (Надвірнянський район), the center is in the city of Nadvirna;
  6. Verkhovyna (Верховинський район), the center is in the urban-type settlement of Verkhovyna.

Before July 2020, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast was subdivided into 20 regions: 14 districts ( raions ) and 6 city municipalities (mis'krada or misto), officially known as territories governed by city councils. [2]

Tysmenytsia Raion was an administrative raion (district) of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (province) in western Ukraine. It was created on December 8, 1966, as Ivano-Frankivsk Raion. Since March 28, 1982 the name of raion was changed to Tysmenytsia when the administrative center of it became the city of Tysmenytsia. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Oblast to six. The area of Tysmenytsia Raion was merged into Ivano-Frankivsk Raion. The last estimate of the raion population was 81,796 .

The raion was vaguely reminiscent with the Bohorodczan Powiat of the Stanisławów Voivodeship. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Oblast to six. The area of Bohorodchany Raion was merged into Ivano-Frankivsk Raion. The last estimate of the raion population was 68,952 .

Yaremche Municipality was an administrative subdivision of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Population: 23,186 . The municipality was created on December 30, 1977 out of the Nadvirna Raion. In 2006 the official name of it changed from Yaremcha to Yaremche. On December 14, 2006 the spelling of Yaremche officially has changed from Yaremcha. Most of the municipality is located within the Nadvirna Raion consisting of three non-adjacent territories, one of which is bordering also Zakarpattia Oblast.

Ivano-Frankivsk Raion is a raion (district) of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine. It was created in July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine. The center of the raion is the city of Ivano-Frankivsk. Five abolished raions, Bohorodchany, Halych, Rohatyn, Tlumach, and Tysmenytsia Raions, as well as Ivano-Frankivsk and Burshtyn Municipalities, were merged into Ivano-Frankivsk Raion. Population: 556,104.
