Air Tropiques was an airline based in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. It operated domestic, regional and charter flights. Its main base was N'Dolo Airport, Kinshasa. [1]

The airline was established in 2001 and started operations in February 2001. It had 50 employees in June 2016 when it was merged into Kin Avia. [1] The airline was on the List of air carriers banned in the European Union. Air Tropiques was merged into Kin Avia in June 2016.

The Let L-410 Turbolet is a twin-engine short-range transport aircraft, manufactured by the Czech aircraft manufacturer Let Kunovice, often used as an airliner. The aircraft is capable of landing on short and unpaved runways and operating under extreme conditions from −50 °C (−58 °F) to +50 °C (122 °F). By 2016, 1,200 L-410s had been built, and over 350 are in service in more than 50 countries.

Due to safety and security concerns, CAA has been included in the list of air carriers banned in the European Union, along with many other airlines from the Congo.

Lignes Aériennes Congolaises (LAC) was the flag carrier of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was established in 1997 to succeed the folded Air Zaire. Halting operations in 1999, it was reactivated for a short period in 2002, only to fold operations permanently in 2003.

Kinshasa Airways was a cargo airline based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. It was established in 2002 by Willy Mubela Kumwimba and operated cargo services from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Middle East. As of June 2010, Kinshasa Airways was on the List of air carriers banned in the EU, it ended operations the same year.

2007 Free Airlines L-410 crash Aviation accident in Democratic Republic of Congo

On June 21, 2007 an overloaded Free Airlines Let L-410UVP in Karibu Airways livery crashed shortly after takeoff from Kamina Town for Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. Landing in a swamp east of the unpaved strip, the aircraft came to rest inverted in the water.

Filair was an airline based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It operated from N'Dolo Airport in Kinshasa. The airline was on the list of air carriers banned in the European Union, as well as all airlines regulated by the authorities in the DRC.

2010 Filair Let L-410 crash

On 25 August 2010, a Let L-410 Turbolet passenger aircraft of Filair crashed on approach to Bandundu Airport in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, killing all but one of the 21 people on board.

Khabarovsk Airlines, stylised KhabAvia, is a Russian state-owned airline with bases at Khabarovsk and Nikolayevsk-on-Amur. Established in 2004, the airline operates nine Antonov and Let aircraft as of December 2016. Its flight schedule, accessed in December 2016, states that Khabarovsk Airlines flies to ten destinations.
