The 12317 / 12318 Akal Takht Express is an Indian Railways Express train connecting eastern Indian city of Kolkata with northern Indian city of Amritsar. It is named after the Akal Takht, a central Sikh shrine in Amritsar.
Originally started from Asansol. In 2004 it was extended up to Sealdah, its terminus got changed to Kolkata in 2014. It is a Express-class train travelling 1,900 kilometres (1,200 mi) at an average speed of 60 kilometres per hour (37 mph). It has sleeper, third AC, second AC, first AC, and unreserved types of coaches along with 2 EOG for power. This train has modern LHB coach, however, pantry car facility is not available with this train but on-board catering and e-catering is available. [1] [2]

The 12773 / 12774 Secunderabad–Shalimar AC Superfast Express is a Superfast AC Express train of the Indian Railways connecting Secunderabad (SC) to Kolkata Shalimar (SHM). It is handled by the South Central Railway zone (SCR). The train was announced in the 2012 Annual Railway Budget of India and its rake was rolled out in September 2012. The train stops at 14 stations en route, connecting major cities like Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar and Kharagpur. The train runs weekly. The train was flagged off from Secunderabad on 28 May 2013 at 11:00 am by Kotla Jayasurya Prakasha Reddy, the then Minister of State of Railways and Anjan Kumar Yadav, an MP from Secunderabad.

During monsoon periods over Konkan route the travelling time will be changed. It is the Second Fastest train to Punjab from Kerala on weekly basis after Kerala Sampark Kranti SF Express .
