Amidobia is a genus of small beetles in the rove beetle family Staphylinidae, first described by Thomson in 1858. It is native to Europe and currently comprises two recognized species, Amidobia bacilliformis (Bernhauer, 1921) and Amidobia creta Pace, 1985. Members of this genus are distinguished by their elongated bodies and are typically found in leaf litter and moss, where they play a role in the breakdown of decaying organic material. Though relatively obscure, Amidobia contributes to the biodiversity of European soil ecosystems. [2] [3]
