Amy Corbett is a Scottish senior design manager and product lead at the Lego Group. She is most known as a judge (called "brickmaster") in the American version of Lego Masters. [1]

Career

In 2008, Corbett spent three months assisting a non-government organization (NGO) in Botswana in the creation and implementation of sustainable projects. In 2011 she assisted with Engineers Without Borders (UK) to help the village coffee growers process their own crops. [2] She started working as design manager at the Lego Group in 2012. Corbett is responsible for developing new product lines. She worked on the Lego Friends line, a line that was launched when she arrived at the Lego Group. She also worked for the Lego Disney line. [3] She was part of the concept team for the 2018 film The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part . Her current project with her design team is Lego DOTS, where they work to customize daily items like jewelry and picture frames. [1]

In 2020, she started her role as judge “Brickmaster Amy” on the American edition of Lego Masters ; a television reality show in which teams compete to build the best Lego project. [4] In 2022, she also became a judge on the Christmas special episode of the British edition. [5]

The toy sets included models of buildable underwater vehicles, as well as "heroic diver" and "shark warrior" minifigures. A ride based on the range was operated at Legoland Windsor Resort.

Lego Ninjago is a Lego theme that was created in 2011 and a flagship brand of The Lego Group. It is the first theme to be based on ninja since the discontinuation of the Lego Ninja theme in 2000. Lego Masters is a British reality show in which teams compete to build the best Lego project. During its original run, it was hosted by Melvin Odoom and judged by Lego designer Matthew Ashton and structural engineer Roma Agrawal and Fran Scott. Lego Masters premiered on Channel 4 on 24 August 2017. After a hiatus of four years, the show came back for a Christmas special on 24 December 2022 hosted by Nish Kumar and judged by Ashton and Amy Corbett from the US version of Lego Masters. Lego DOTS is a Lego theme based on multiple shapes and colourful tiles, with 1×1 elements intended to decorate the products. These include wearable wristbands and decorative room objects that can be individually customised. The theme includes over 30 mood tiles including facial expressions, a music note, a cosmic planet, star night and paw print. The theme was first introduced in March 2020. In January 2023, The Lego Group announced Lego DOTS will be discontinued in December 2023.

Lego BrickHeadz is a Lego theme that recreates iconic characters from themes like DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Star Wars and Disney as buildable characters. The theme was first introduced in 2016.

The first season of the American reality competition television series Lego Masters premiered on Fox on February 5, 2020. The series is based on the British series of the same name. The season concluded with 10 episodes on April 15, 2020 crowning married couple Tyler and Amy Clites the winners during the finale.
