Lego World Racers (stylized as LEGO World Racers) was a Lego theme that centred around two racing teams competing to win the world cup. The first six sets were released in May and June 2010, with an additional three sets being released later in 2010. The theme was discontinued in the same year.
Lego World Racers was based on a storyline that focused on two racing teams named the Backyard Blasters and the X-Treme Daredevils that compete in races across the world to win the world cup. The Lego minifigures in the X-treme Daredevils' team were Dex-treme, Rex-treme, and Max-treme. The minifigures in the Backyard Blasters' team were Bubba, Bart, and Billy Bob Blaster. [1]
The first World Racers sets were released during the end of May and the start of June, 2010. [2] [3] Blizzard's Peak was a 504 piece set with an age rating of 8–14 and was marked as Race 5 in the theme. The set features included two Arctic racers, a helicopter, snowmobile, and six minifigures. The minifigures included three members of the Backyard Blaster team – Bart Blaster, Billy Bob Blaster, Bubba Blaster, two members of the X-Treme Daredevils team – Max-treme and Dex-treme, and one race official. [4] Desert of Destruction was a 961 piece set with an age rating of 8–14 and was marked as Race 6 in the theme. The set features included the X-treme Daredevils team truck that was around 53 cm (21"), a desert rally racer, a desert buggy racer, and eight minifigures. The minifigures included five members of the X-treme Daredevils – Rex-treme, Dex-treme, Max-treme and two crewmembers, two members of the Backyard Blasters – Bart Blaster and Bubba Blaster, and a race official. [5] Snake Canyon was a 57 piece set with an age rating of 7–14 and was marked as Race 1. The set features included two off-road motorcycles, a winners platform and two minifigures - Rex-treme and Bart Blaster. [6]
Jagged Jaws Reef was a 191 piece set with an age rating of 7–14 and was marked as Race 2. The set featured two 15 cm (6") long race boats, a shark and two minifigures - Rex-treme and Bart Blaster [7] Wreckage Road was a 292 piece set with an age rating of 7–14 and was marked as Race 3. The set featured two 15 cm (6") long race cars, a start/finish gateway, and four minifigures. The minifigures included two members of the X-treme Daredevils - Max-treme and Rex-treme, and two members of the Backyard Blasters - Bart Blaster and Billy Bob Blaster. [8] Gator Swamp was a 354 piece set with an age rating of 7–14 and was marked as Race 4. The features included two 15 cm (6") long hovercraft racers, a gator, a dock and minifigures. The minifigures included two members of the Backyard Blasters - Billy Bob Blaster and Bubba Blaster, two members of the X-treme Daredevils - Rex-treme and Dex-treme, and a race official. [9]
Later in 2010 three promotional sets were released. World Race Powerboat was a 27 piece set marked as Race 9. It featured a small powerboat and the minifigure Rex-treme. [10] World Race Buggy was a 35 piece set marked as Race 8. It featured a small buggy and the minifigure Bart Blaster. [11] Rocket Kit was a 26 piece set marked as Race 6. It featured four dynamite pieces and eight brick-built rockets. [12]

A Lego minifigure, often simply referred to as a Lego figure or a minifig, is a small plastic articulated figurine made of special Lego bricks produced by Danish building toy manufacturer The Lego Group. They were first produced in 1978 and have been a success, with over 4 billion produced worldwide as of 2020. Minifigures are usually found within Lego sets, although they are also sold separately as collectables in blind bags, or can be custom-built in Lego stores and on lego.com. While some are named as specific characters, either licensed from already existing franchises or of Lego's own creation, many are unnamed and are designed simply to fit within a certain theme. They are highly customizable, and parts from different figures can be mixed and matched, resulting in many combinations.
Lego Alpha Team was a Lego theme that was released in 2001 and ended in 2005. It focused on a group of secret agents and their evil nemesis named Ogel.
Lego Adventurers was a Lego theme based on an early 20th century 'explorer' concept. It centred around the main character named Johnny Thunder and a team of explorers who go on adventures. Unlike other Lego themes, which take place in a fictional "Lego Universe", most of the Adventurers sets took places in real-world locations, such as Egypt, the Amazon rainforest, the Himalayas, India, and China. The only fictional sub-theme took place on an island where prehistoric creatures still lived. The theme was first introduced in 1998. The product line was discontinued in 2003 and replaced with the Lego Pharaoh's Quest theme in 2011.
Lego Space is a Lego theme, which includes astronauts, space colonization, spaceships and extraterrestrial life. It was originally introduced in 1978. It stands as one of the oldest and most extensive themes in Lego history, consisting of over 200 individual sets. Lego Space has been marketed and sold under the Legoland and Lego System banners.
Lego Harry Potter is a Lego theme based on the film series of the same name and the eponymous novels by British author J. K. Rowling. It is licensed from Warner Bros. Lego models of important scenes, vehicles and characters were made for the first six films and all of the published books. The first sets appeared in 2001, to coincide with the release of the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Subsequent sets were released alongside the new films, until Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The line then went dormant for three years, with sets being released in 2010 and 2011. In 2018, it was announced that more sets based on the Harry Potter franchise would be released, including new sets based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and its sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Lego Spider-Man is a product range of the Lego construction toy, based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. When the theme first launched in 2002, it was inspired by the Spider-Man film released the same year and was part of the Lego Studios line. Additional sets were released two years later, based on the film's sequel, Spider-Man 2. The theme was discontinued before the release of Spider-Man 3, and the rights were sold to rival Mega Brands, who entered a multi-year licensing deal with Marvel Enterprises, giving them the rights to produce playsets, vehicles, and other building-themed products based upon various Marvel characters for their Mega Bloks toys.
Lego Creator is a Lego theme for generic models. Creator sets have few specialized bricks to create buildings, creatures, vehicles, and robots. Some sets featured instructions for three different possible builds from the bricks included and most sets in recent years have used the 3-in-1 label. Creator is also a parent theme to Lego Icons, a Lego subtheme for adolescents and adults featuring advanced building techniques and large piece counts, mostly known for Modular Buildings and detailed vehicles. Creator also has had several other subthemes such as X-Pods and mosaics.
Lego Studios was a popular brand of Lego toys released in 2000 and mainly focused on movie-making and the steps thereof. Lego Studios was first distributed in November 2000, and was later discontinued in 2003. The last series in the franchise was the Lego Spider-Man set.
Lego Toy Story is a Lego theme based on the Disney·Pixar's Toy Story film franchise. The first four sets were released on December 30, 2009, with an additional two sets being released on January 4, 2010. In May, five Lego and four Duplo sets were released under the Toy Story 3 sub-theme. For the release of Toy Story 4 there was one Duplo set based on the third film and 6 Lego sets based on the fourth film. These sets were released in March and in April 2019 this time under the Juniors line. The minifigures in the sets were also now redesigned.
Lego Prince of Persia was a Lego theme based on the 2010 film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It was licensed from Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films. The theme was introduced in 2010 and was discontinued by the end of 2011.
Lego Pharaoh's Quest was a Lego theme that was first introduced in 2011. It uses elements from the previous Lego Adventurers theme. The Lego Pharaoh's Quest theme was discontinued by the end of 2012.
Lego Speed Racer was a 2008 Lego theme based on the 2008 film Speed Racer. It consists of four sets which were first released in April 2008. The product line was discontinued by the end of 2009.

The Lego Movie is an American media franchise based on Lego construction toys. It began with the 2014 film The Lego Movie, which was directed and written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The success of the film led to the release of two licensed video games, a 4D film theme park attraction, two spin-off films titled The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie, which were released in 2017, Unikitty! an animated television series that also came out in the same year, and the sequel to the original film titled The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part in 2019. Plans for a third spin-off film and a sequel to The Lego Batman Movie were later shelved.
Lego Juniors was a product range of the construction toy Lego, designed for children aged 4 to 7 years old. It acted as a transition from the Duplo to the regular Lego System. Lego Juniors initial release was on February 14, 2014, with the tagline Easy to build. It was the successor to the Bricks & More line released in 2009. Unlike its predecessor, Lego Juniors offered specialized bricks to make builds look more realistic while using fewer pieces for an easier build. The product line was discontinued by the end of 2018 and rebranded as "4+".
The Lego Movie is a Lego product line based on the 2014 film of the same name. It was licensed from The Lego Group and Warner Bros. Animation. The theme was first introduced in 2014 to coincide with the release of the film, along with The Lego Movie Video Game.
