Archdeacon of Wells

The Archdeacon of Wells has been a senior clergy position in the Church of England Diocese of Bath and Wells since the English reformation, before which it was part of the Roman Catholic Church. The post, having oversight over the archdeaconry of Wells in Somerset has existed since the twelfth century. The archdeaconry includes seven deaneries.

The Bishop of Bath and Wells heads the Church of England Diocese of Bath and Wells in the Province of Canterbury in England.

The Archdeacon of West Cumberland is responsible for the archdeaconry of West Cumberland, one of three administrative divisions of the Church of England (Anglican) Diocese of Carlisle. The archdeaconry was created by Order-in-Council on 7 August 1959.

The Archdeacon of Macclesfield is a senior ecclesiastical officer within the Diocese of Chester. As such she or he is responsible for the disciplinary supervision of the clergy within its six rural deaneries: Bowdon, Congleton, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Mottram, Nantwich, Chadkirk, Cheadle and Stockport.

The Archdeacon of Warwick is the senior ecclesiastical officer in charge of the archdeaconry of Warwick in the Diocese of Coventry. The Archdeaconry of Warwick has five Deaneries which centre on Warwick and Leamington Spa, Alcester, Stratford upon Avon, Shipston and Southam.

The Archdeacon of Sherborne is a senior ecclesiastical officer within the Diocese of Salisbury, England. They are responsible for the disciplinary supervision of the clergy within the five area deaneries: Dorchester, Lyme Bay, Sherborne, Weymouth and Portland, and Blackmore Vale.
